Hmm, that's a lot of pressure on the new Aggie coach. Vols be mad, no respect for the defending champs. Miami?
D1Baseball is doing an tenth anniversay series on top college baseball people and events during that period. There was nothing Gator-related in their top player and top events articles, but Gators showed up well in the article about overall excellence. In naming the top coach since 2015, three of the eight writers named Sully, two named Vitello, the other three named one each. For the top program, six named Gators, one Vandy, one vouldn't make up his feeble mind. One example of a comment: MARK ETHERIDGE: Since 2015, there have been nine College World Series and Florida has been a part of six of them, with five final fours, two CWS Finals, and a title. No program has sustained excellence to that degree. Past excellence does not guarantee future excellence, but the trend is nice.
1. Your post looks great to me. 2. 10th in the nation and 6th in the SEC. The SEC dominance is getting a little tiresome.
Don't worry, @wingtee I got this... Let's not get our hopes up until we see if we can win a midweek game. Last year we were barely above .500 and look at how the season ended up. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I'll take a shot at a Wingteeism... We start the year against Air Force so they probably will be flying baseballs out of the stadium every other inning.
I like it when people on here that know the players and practices predict some starters so that I can tell my friends what "I" think and look good.....with that being said, how do we think the weekend starter roles begin and is there a dark horse that may rise as the season plays out? Also, whose going get the first chance to lose 3rd base?
Peterson Coppola Clements Bosler or Lawson at 3B I think Naddeu will spell time all over the infield as well.
Stripling also has a shot at 3rd but Boser has the first chance. Lawson is our best infielder for next year so I agree he might play third. I'm just not sure Sully would hold him more for SS. Nadeau needs to play somewhere but not enough positions to go around.
Nadeau really seems to get on base and is solid defensively....want to see him get some quality innings. I'm hoping this lineup can cut down on the K's we've seen last 3-4 years, although I'm aware that seems to be going the way of the dinosaur
To be specific and maybe you have watched this as well at fall ball, Nadeau has the most relaxed hands on his swing at the plate. Because of that it gives him the best hand eye coordination to put bat on ball. The kid puts the ball in play and can hit it in all directions. It just makes him look more comfortable at the plate and covers all parts of the plate. He might not have much power but if Sully wants someone to drive in a run either from a sacrifice or go oppo, Nadeau gives us the best chance.
