I mean... hasn't one of the stated positions of this admin been to reduce spending? How is spending 1.5 trillion on greenland reducing spending? Strategically i don't hate it but it needs to be thought through and not just a twitter post about how we owned the libs buying greenland.
Again...ROI. Greenland would be an investment. Y'all's corrupt AF "Green scam" spending is nothing more than fleecing the tax payer to fatten Dummyrat friends. 9 TRILLION DOLLARS?!?!?!
It’s a decent post here…but be mindful, when we get this new property, Trump may not allow the libbies to visit.
You should see how much Trump added with his legendary economy. +$7.8Trillion. What's another $1.5T for an ice island? Especially since we have our healthcare needs covered.
sheep are flying into action. If it is to be sold, the buyer will have a -ROI. Why overpay for the cow, when you can get the milk anyway? Oh, yeah, cuz GO BIG GOV! there is actually a term for this: BIG GOV conservatism. I think it was coined during the Reagan admin. &, there is another 1, American Greatness conservatism (something like that), where we spend shitloads to make us feel good about ourselves. It would essentially be a military expenditure that would pay for itself and then some. If the offer is made, you have to do it. Greenland is larger than Alaska and would serve as a flank in the Northern Atlantic. I'm a deficit hawk, but you don't pass on a chance to buy Greenland at a reasonable price. It won't be the complete fleecing that Alaska and Louisiana were, but Greenland will pay for itself. If it does that, why would you not buy it and fortify our flank in the Arctic?
unlike English, in math 2 negs = a “more” neg #. It’s like pissing on dogshit IMO. ps I’ll give $1000 if you can produce a single post where I supported military or any other aid to Ukriane
Sorry, but I trust President Trump's instincts about real estate more than I do yours. Nothin' personal...
fortunately that will be over in a few days "Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after we win the presidency," Trump said. "I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled."
if this is a part of some larger long term U.S. plan or strategy I’m all for it. If this is Trump just yelling at clouds for applause then I’m not as excited. I’ve read for years how we are behind in the arctic so this is a decision I can definitely get behind but it will require a significant amount of spending and hard work to make it worthwhile and Trump hasn’t really proven he can follow through on something that complex especially if he does all he says he’s going to do to disassemble the us bureaucracy. This isn’t something private industry can carry across the finish line for the government.
Trump yelling at clouds is a liberal trope. He's a builder, a real estate mogul. But more importantly, he has been spot on about China for decades. If he sees China's hand in Greenland is gaining too much control, I trust he's not merely blowing hot air or yelling at clouds.
Trump's 7.8 Trillion included our foray into socialism. You remember--when we added 3.7 Trillion Dollars of debt to shut down for *the longest 2 weeks in recorded history*, to contain Covid. Trump owns it bc he signed off on it--i disapproved at the time (still do, never waivered), but truth told.... it was a freight train coming, and he'd a got run over, if he didn't. Either way, we can see where the money went, and why (disgusting as it was). Doh! Biden's term? All we can identify, is that the money went.... out. Greenland has way more natural resources than 1.5 Trillion dollars. That makes it an investment. Alaska, the Louisiana purchase, Hawaii.... Hardly unprecedented. Now, all that said, I'm not advocating for its purchase. Just not summarily dismissing it, and more importantly, pointing out the how the same idiots crying foul over it, cheerled the green scam spending, and didn't say boo about 9 Trillion dollars for... Not-a-Damn-Thing.
How about you link a post where you cried foul over big government in response to Dummyrat spending or big gov policies? Not saying it's never happened, but I damn sure haven't seen it. PS--fixin to paruse the 2,000 page Ukraine thread, bc I'm pretty sure you were cheerleading our spending there early on.... you remember... when you changed your avatar to rock Ukraine's yeller and blue colors, and even posted about how you have family from Ukraine or something along those lines? (...maybe I'm confusing you with some other poster...).
1. As I've said before, conservatism is my team. I focus my criticism on them &, mostly those who claim to be them. Not dems. You're mealy assed relativism is why have 2 leftist parties. 2. Aren't you pulling for Ukraine in this conflict? I've been a Jax Jaguar since their inception (it's been miserable) & I've spent $0 on them. $0. comprende? It does not reflect kindly on you, that you assume support means one is advocating for BIG GOV! NO? Oh, yes. you thought I was big gov cuz I know C02 traps heat. Perhaps you have some soul searching to do, Libbie.
