On3 posted their way too early Top 10- I’ll save you the $3 and post it here On3 preseason top 10 1. Texas 2. Oregon 3. Ohio state 4. Penn st 5. ND 6. Georgia 7. South Carolina 8. Clemson 9. Florida 10. Auburn
While I don't want to start the season that high, I am not sure it is unreasonable. I think we will start somewhere between 10 and 20 and closer to 10
I'm guessing the 2025 Preseason Top 10 will look a lot like the 2024 Postseason Top 10. Florida should make an appearance in the Preseason Top 25 though based on a strong finish, decent recruiting class, and Lagway getting some national attention.
It won't take very long for us to figure out who we are next season with September games @LSU and then @Miami. LSU looks to improve from this past season and Miami should be a decent opponent with Beck at QB. Those two early games are followed by Texas at home. We'll certainly be tested early.
We were a fuzz away from a 10 win season in 2024. We are ahead of pretty much everyone breaking in a new QB. Think about how our season ended and how our biggest rivals did. Who of these would you rather be over us?
Well, Tennessee and Georgia lost in the CFP. I would rather lose in the CFP than win the Gasparilla Bowl. FSU is obviously not a concern. Questionable how Miami works out with Beck. But after being manhandled by them in the Swamp, I'm not ready to chalk up a W at the U just yet and Beck is dangerous enough to be a problem if he blends with that offense the way Ward did. LSU is always tough in Death Valley. That's 4 of 5 rivals we could easily lose to next season. Hopefully we won't and I don't think we will, but that's a cart I won't put in front of the horse. Not to mention road games at TAMU and Ole Miss. Buckle up.
Please enlighten us why LSU will be better than what they were this year? They ran of a bunch of talent from last year and got some transfers…where is this optimism coming from?
One more ooc win, one more sec win. In the playoffs hopefully. Champs for DJs junior year. You heard it here.
Well, the game is in Baton Rouge, for one. But since you asked, their incoming HS class is much deeper than ours, boasting 20 4-star recruits, which is on pace with Texas and Georgia. And they've added a few more 4-stars in the transfer portal. Currently they have the top ranked transfer portal haul in the nation. Nussmeier will be back for his 5th season at LSU. He's not DJ Lagway, but he will probably be drafted by an NFL team and any QB with 5 years in a system has familiarity that can translate to cohesion and success. Kelly seems to be really focused on beefing up their defense in the portal. Pyburn and others are heading to Baton Rouge to give that defense a big kick in the ass. I would not take LSU lightly.
