Demark is part of NATO, the is a 0.0% of any nation attacking Greenland. I don't see them going independent, either. A nation of 60,000 can't support itself. Half their operating expense is aid given to them by Denmark. They should be thankful to have Denmark taking care of them. If the US did take over Greenland, it would take 10 second before the same cons were whining about the welfare state of Greenland...
Trump flooding the airwaves with as much bullshit as he can to distract you. Imagine rallying behind a Greenland (aka island of ice) red herring. Ya'll crack me up.
it appears Denmark is now considering discussing a strategic partnership with the US for Greenland Denmark Signals Openness to Trump’s Greenland Proposal
Admittedly, I am playing catch up on some of this, but if Greenland is ultimately making a push for independence, would it not make A LOT of sense for Denmark to go ahead and offload Greenland now before said independence is established? Realistically, what is a reasonable price tag for the land? Denmark's annual federal budget is $135~ billion USD. If we're talking about a price tag of upwards of $1.5 trillion.. the sale would allow Denmark to do some unbelievable things with their infrastructure to position themselves to be a pound-for-pound champion of global economic output. Could you imagine if a country wanted to give the U.S. 10 times the amount of our annual federal budget? We'd be able to pay off our entire debt and have some left over to fund our budget deficits while DOGE gets us back to a balanced budget. Which is a lot easier to do with no debt. Obviously, such a money grab would be huge for Denmark. This may have more legs than we realize.
So you want to pay $1.5 trillion for a place that doesn't want to be part of the US and would likely request independence instantly? Small government strikes again!
Great idea. Pay $1.5T for something that costs a buch more money per year to maintain and has no real significance? Sounds like a Trump deal to me.
Yes, I am not big on colonialism as an attempt to deal with cognitive dissonance as the supporters of a crazy person try desperately to sanewash his insane rants. I guess your argument is that I should be more open to colonialism for that very important purpose?
Yet yall don't seem to give half a damn when we add 9 Trillion to the debt with Not-a-damn thing to show for it. God forbid we should get something tangible, visible and identifiable for our money.
Greenland has lots of minerals and natural resources that China is trying to get their hands on. Our access to these things is a national security issue, and it is a big deal because China has a stranglehold on many important elements and minerals and wants to continue to keep a stranglehold on them. China is like the all seeing eye in Lord of The Rings eyeing Greenland right now. They have aspirations for global domination, and the only thing that will stop them is either a) Jesus coming back or b) some country with the means to challenge them getting off their sofa and doing something about it.
