something tells me that isn't what Jeus preached do you follow the teachings of christ or the laws of men?
Somehow seems odd that poster has no qualms about total bringing devastation upon millions of individuals' lives .... because "they broke our law" being here... BUT completely supports the KNOWN felon. What the definition of hypocrisy?
Its old but a good read and I may have posted it before. There has to be another solution. Mass deportation is going to really hurt in a lot of ways. Simply put, Mexicans/South Americans are the only ones willing to work as hard as they do for so little pay. https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...consequences/2012/06/17/gJQA3Rm0jV_story.html
I commend you for being consistent but I still believe thats the wrong way to go about it. Its done, it happened. If we give the people who are here an easy path to stay here who are law abiding (minus the whole coming here illegally thing) they will likely jump at the opportunity if they are here for the right reasons. The ones who don't show up to become legal can get deported no problem. However, breaking up families and deporting people who are currently active and productive members of society is going backwards IMO.
… and most of the bigger employers in ag are Republican voters if not donor class, which is why this fantasy will either never happen or would be a hilarious self-own for those who supported it (although not so hilarious as the entire economy would likely suffer).
You could stay in business and follow immigration laws. Many businesses, such as farms, construction businesses, and convalescent homes cannot. There simply aren't enough citizens willing and able to do the work needed to stay in business. It leaves the business owner two choices. Close shop and lose all his/her money. Or, hire undocumented immigrants. Many of these businesses are critical to the US. Agriculture is a $1 billion industry that literally helps to keep food on our tables. Without the needed immigrant labor, many farms would declare bankruptcy, and food would die on the vine unpicked. Less businesses means less GDP, and more Americans out of work. Less food being picked means higher food prices due to food shortages. How is this good for the American economy and typical American? Does Trump even have a concept of a plan to replace the 8 to 9 million undocumented immigrants in our workforce? If not, how can we avoid the economic crash and higher prices that are sure to come?
I used to say “go after the big employers”. Probably made that argument on here at one time. The irony is I’m pretty sure it was republicans arguing against me. But I don’t see that as even feasible anymore, the economy needs that labor full stop. Two choices. You can grow the economy and keep the immigrants, with some “guest worker” program which gets them above board and legal. You can crash the economy and send all the immigrants packing. It is fundamentally impossible to have both. You can lock down the border like that fool Texas Governor and have government agents do “enhanced inspection” of every single vehicle, but you saw how quickly that ended because it was causing massive delays and economic losses.
Precisely. All of it. The problem, of course, is that you can't even get Trump supporters to rationally engage on the subject. Ask them how the workers would be replaced and they just leave the thread, lol. (But only temporarily.) Sometimes, before leaving the thread though, they explain that their reasoning is based on their deep respect for law and order, and that that is why they voted for a felon.
I didn't- I voted for a Patriot who has been dodging bullets. Your vote for joey( if in fact you really bothered to vote) in 2020 was a vote for a felon
Not an excuse. Simple economics. What happens to prices when supply drops? They go up. What happens to businesses that can't find employees to fill unopen roles at critical times? They generally go out of business. Or, they raise their rates and pass those costs along to consumers and again, prices go up. Again, what's Trump's plan to replace 8 to 9 million employees? Does he even have a concept of a plan?
where are you getting this 8-9 million employees number from. That is the amount of illegal aliens they are floating that came in during the joey admin. For 20 years the dems have said we had 11 million illegals in the. US. My bet is the total number of illegals in the US is closer to 50 million. Makes no diffference to me- if they are here illegally then they have to go.
Several sources list between 8 and 9 million undocumented workers in the US. Pew has 8.3 million. About 8.3 million U.S. workers in 2022 were unauthorized immigrants, an increase from 7.4 million in 2019. The 2022 number is essentially the same as previous highs in 2008 and 2011. Other estimates come from the BLS estimate of 18.6% of US labor coming from immigrants (both legal and undocumented), and taking that number and subtracting the legal labor, which leaves you with a number closer to 9 million undocumented.
that ESTIMATED number is from 2022- we have had millions more illegal aliens pour in over the last 2 years thanks to joey the truth is we have NO IDEA how many illegals are here nor how many are illegally working
LOl. Even you dont believe that. From the last hurray: Mexico will pay for the wall! We will be at zero by this weekend! I wont have time to play golf! Repeal and replace with BETTER!! Economic growth of 4%!! I will eliminate the federal deficit! I will only hire the best people! I will bring back coal jobs! Lock her UP!! I will end the Opioid crisis! I will cut the cost of college!
