She also made the UF squad as a walk-on. I doubt if there have been very many ladies that have made this team as a walk-on.
Repeating a post from above. There are two shots of a catcher and it isn't Jocey as it is a right hander. Anyone know if it is Bellaire or someone else we are converting?
2nd one has a 51 on the back of the catchers mask and that is Bellaires number. First one is also a blonde, I think it is her as well.
If she is a good defensive catcher, she can be hit for by the DP most of the time, as most of our pitcher can hit pretty well.
Listening to Christina Wellen’s interview provides a clear understanding of the CTW program, “Gator Way.” CTW’s program is known for its high demands and focus on accountability, seeking talented players who embody specific team characteristics. Christina Wellen, an intelligent young lady, as demonstrated in this interview, exemplifies these traits by consistently striving for self-improvement and defining her own identity through her character building actions. With these objectives, she diligently worked to fulfill the Gator Way expectations. Undeterred by her failures, she persevered to find her role and contribute meaningfully to the team. Her self improvement dedication underscores as to why those who couldn't align with the program's principles and standards, referred to as "head cases," eventually left the team.
I wouldn't worry to much about a backup for Jocelyn. She is going to have a bunch of games that she will only have to catch 5 innings.
Probably true. However, catchers need a break from time to time just to rest the legs. Doubleheaders, a 3-game series on a very hoot weekend, etc. Plus, there's always a chance of her getting sick or getting hurt, God forbid.
