Up to 1800 ,80- 90% of people in the U.S. worked on farms. This started to decline and by the late 1800s, it was down to around 50%. From what I’ve read, it was an all-hands-on-deck effort. Women worked hard alongside their husbands, taking on whatever tasks they could. Men handled jobs requiring greater physical strength, and women worked other tasks including meal prep, functioning as an effective team. Raising children was done using a myriad of methods - family members, other children, neighbors.

It’s interesting how we reference “traditional family values,” and what is the universal standard throughout history.

Point is, imo it’s not women wanting to pursue education that’s harming our country. Maybe he could also mention how we should raise boys to be better husbands.

Kids were also labor who worked the farms (outside of the slave plantations, where people had to work their own land). So more kids basically meant more free farmhands to help support the farm.

And it's worked for them for a couple of decades. You can lose your job for saying words they don't like.

Words such as…? Is this going to morph into a “white men should be allowed to use the N word screed”?

This guys issue appears to be misogamy. Quick google search shows he was suspended from Boise State University for his “views” on women. So this isn’t his first rodeo with controversy, even Idaho didn’t want him. It *had* to be known by the people who would appoint him, so Desantis was 1000% lying that his take on women came as a surprise.

This guy outwardly describes a bias against women taking college classes. How could any woman even take one of his classes after he tells them they shouldn’t be there??? He cloaks this in an academic setting, political science no less, which might be only department an “academic freedom” argument could be made. But ultimately he’s just trolling right wing provocateur crap into a classroom. I know the popular term for these things is cancel culture, but some views and words really are just incompatible with certain positions. A public university official in 2025 having the position that women shouldn’t go to college is just about as crazy as a college going “Hello students, I’d like to introduce our new dean of aerospace engineering, Professor Flatearther”. It just doesn’t reconcile with the position.

Hey, no offense but I think you're fighting the sad, unfair culture war of a few decades ago.

We've moved on to gays, and especially trans people, getting all the rights. And cheap-labor immigrants are a really big thing now.

If you wanted to be really cutting edge you could lament how immigrants are eating pets. Even your own. Doesn't have to be true, you can make it up if you want- you're allowed to lie now!

Have not researched the guy. But stuff like this is typically like the KC kicker story. Completed blown out of perspective. If not then he will probably have the nomination taken away. But odds are this is just hyperventilating over nothing by the left imo.

The rich want more babies so they can continue the services and consumerism growth that makes them and their children rich. Trickles down to politicians as well, as tax revenue is derived from growth. Its sick, but $ is the motivation.

Pretty funny too when you consider that poster’s family is taken care of by his doctor wife and her business — who is sending her kids to college so they can have good lives like she provides for her husband and family….
