So sorry for your loss. It’s great that your other daughters, including the housewives, have pursued and achieved such worthwhile paths.

The pushback seems to align with your comment: “We raised the girls to be strong, independent thinkers. It was up to them to decide what they want out of life”
You likely supported and encouraged their pursuits. However, Yenor’s view (per the OP) is that daughters shouldn’t be raised this way and college aspirations should be discouraged.

if that was just his opinion is one thing. But he is on a college board and in a position to potentially thwart a girl from achieving what they want out of life if it involves a college education.

    Hate? Agitate?
The discussion is about an appointee to help run a state university who seems to think that women shouldn’t go to college.
You don’t think that’s worthy of discussion?!

You know every 1st world country has this exact “problem”, right? Even at 1.79, technically below replacement, U.S. is ahead of much of the 1st world and for reference China is at 1.2.

Is there even evidence that educated women in *this* country have less kids? I know some third world hellholes with zero education and even famine conditions have fertility rates as high as 6 (and super high mortality rates to go with them). But I mean here in this country. Because this statistic im about to show you tells something else.

Birth rate by educational attainment of mother U.S. 2023 | Statista

The *lowest* recorded birth rate is among those who fail to graduate high school at 32 per 1000. The rate is 58 birth per 1000 for women with only high school. It drops only down to 50 for women with “some college” or a bachelors. But the highest birth rate is actually 61 births per 1000 for women with advanced degrees. None of that really lines up with the bs the guy in the op is peddling.

The implication here is just delicious. Is he really implying that being anti-women is right wing? Telling on himself lol.
What a clown. The University of West Florida is a "highly politicized" institution? Give me a break. New College certainly was unique, quirky, and very left wing. But UWF? L-O-L. The only person politicizing that place is DoucheSantis.

Yup. That's the absurdity of it all. Most of us want people to have choice---freedom. If women want to be housewives and stay-at-home moms, I fully support that. If women want to get an education and pursue career success, I fully support that. It should be their call, not the call of repulsive, repressive bigots like Yenor.

Do people really believe that suppressing women's advancement in society benefits ANYONE?

Regardless of one's political views, Yenor's statement should be soundly repudiated.

"If we want a great nation, we should ..."

We should stop being such dipsticks regarding gender, race, beliefs, etc. This is 2025, not 1825. Sheesh.

That does not answer the question. Should girls be discouraged from pursuing a degrees and encouraged to have babies instead?

It’s worthy. But the left just wants to hate and agitate.

Like the morons that think the KC kicker should never be allowed to kick for the Chiefs again.

Please feel free to reference the hate that you describe, now back to the original post. Should the leader of a university encourage women to birth babies instead of pursuing a college education?
