I believe Condon was scoreless in the first half and finished with 12 points along with 10 rebounds never commiting his 4th foul. He was my MVG for his clutch play.

Richard was 0-5 in the first half and a critical 4-6 in the second half.

Alexis played a solid 13 minutes contributing 6 points, 7 rebounds and 0 turnovers

That's not good. I had one once in a pickup game... I didn't have the high-level training and treatment these guys do, but I couldn't play for a good four months, and it didn't feel healed for a good six months.

I had a high ankle sprain when I was 26, it took me six months to get over it and a year to forget about it. When I went to the doctor, he said high ankle sprains usually hurt worse than breaks. Fyi

Not sure I agree about urban but the pattern with Clayton is clear. He lacks the size and strength to initiate against physical guards or finish at the rim. TG clearly recognizes this and is initiating the offense hi-lo with condo. Loved how we punished them with backcuts and over the top for overplaying the 3 point line. Walter needs to cut harder off screens, move with more urgency, and force refs to call contact.

Great win on the road with the whole team once again illustrating many ways to win and why we are a tough out.

Never know. My dad broke his ankle skiing one year and skiid on it for two more days, went to the doc when we got back to FL. Another year he sprained his ankle and ski patrol had to carry him off the mountain. Injuries can be weird.

Dirty town already, broken up roads, homeless in every part of town, I am glad you could get a little satisfaction. Hopefully you can get to an airport.

That’s rarely a good sign. He could be out weeks. We play them in 4 weeks

High ankle sprains you stretch tendons, muscle and any cartridge can be ripped from what the doc told me. It takes time to heal and good physical therapy.

ESPN made me miss 13 game minutes from the start. Texas Tech gave Iowa State a run for their money, couldn’t close out in regulation or at the end of OT.

after beating UT, I was afraid there would be a letdown. And playing in front of a sold out arena, against an Ark team hungry for a win, and an unfavorable whistle that lead to a major free throw advantage for the home team, while fouling out 3 of our guys, we still found a way to win. That’s what good teams do!

And I love the effort even when the shots weren’t falling. The pure hustle was great. All 8 Gators scored and all had at least 2 boards. Again, solid win guys!

Exactly. We knew all along that teams would figure out a way to attack Clayton defensively in the half court. I love the high-low and Princeton high post motion stuff we are incorporating. Takes a little pressure off Clayton, but also makes use of Condon’s outstanding passing (4 assists against 0 turnovers today). Condon is averaging 2.1 assists against .9 turnovers, and since UNC he has 19 assists against 5 turnovers (3.2 to .9).

Clayton in a mini-slump but I’m not worried about him. I don’t like his sloppiness with the ball but his shot is so pure, he’ll get into his groove. Ark had some athletic guards and they tried to lock us down in 2nd half. It appears teams are trying to take Clayton out of his usual high scoring output, which is ok because we can score in a multitude of ways. This is why we are so tough to outscore.
We were not hitting on all cylinders today and that gym is always tough to come out with a win; but we played hard and had a few spurts in the end.

I sprained both ankles a couple years apart, but don’t know if they were high or not. Both the same way, jumping for a rebound and coming down on somebody’s foot. Heard a pop both times and immediate pain. They weren’t normal for at least 6 months.

A really good win today because they showed another aspect that we can win games with the refs inflicting their whistles often and every chance they could get. At UK, we learned we have to play more aggressive in the SEC. With UT, we learned when everyone is aggressive great things happen. Today we learned how to win on the road in the SEC when the officials are calling everything and still be aggressive.

Props to CTG as well for managing the rotations of 8 players to their fullest potential. The one spot I wish he had changed was Chins in the game 2 minutes before half with 2 fouls, only to get his 3rd foul before the half. Sure, many of the bigs had 2 but I'd rather Alexis or Haugh get their 3rd before Chins. All in all our bigs played aggressive the whole game, the guards not so much. Our guards seemed out of rhythm probably because of all the stoppages. Arky cued on Clayton and we made it easy on them since Martin and Richard rarely hit any big shots. If Richard scores more then Clayton has an outlet if they collapse on him.

Credit to Condo, Chins, Haugh, and Alexis for getting us this win. Sure it's a complete team win but without their consistent hustle inside, our guards would have found trouble scoring from the perimeter. Now we get to play at home for two games and see what else we can learn and hopefully win some more.

I take nothing away from condo, chin, haugh with the below comment as they play with fantastic intensity. However, part of the reason we get so many offensive boards is our guards are so effective from outside that the other team must overplay them. This means no guard rebounding and bigs helping far from the basket. It opens up offensive boards for us. Takes a team so just pointing to that dynamic. And I’m one that thinks we still lack a point guard and that is an issue going forward.
