Seems to be alot of loose ends with Ron, thom1507. Job title and description. Salary. Does he even want the job? As in the full scope of it. Family situation and possibly his age. I think the reason the University has made no definitive announcement is related to the above list and perhaps more.
You may be right, but the ends are that loose. He's still under contract through 2025 so not sure what we expect the University to announce. I guess we'll see if UF bumps his salary from the 950K he is slated to get this year or if someone comes in and drops a bag for his services. One data point to consider up to now is AA left and not RR.
Hello Hawaii - Come visit us in Philly, a balmy 22F with 40 mph winds! LOL I wish I was in Wahiawa myself. (yes I've been there) OK on topic - So the Gator You Tubers are buzzing about Robert.......as in, IS HE the presumptive heir to the DC title or not? Ron also does not make the same money as Austin, although it's close. Unless I'm mistaken the "pundits" are waiting for an official announcement about Rons future with UF. Me, I hope he gets the official DC position, or at the very least, stays in his current capacity. I say this based on the improvement of the defense and a desire to see that side of the ball have some continuity heading into the 2025 campaign.
No thanks on Philly! My wife is from just outside of there. I am no longer in Hawaii either, I ended up transferring out of there to the LOVELY NYC. Now I retired back down to Florida. All the YouTubers have a job to do, promote themselves. They do that by talking and getting a buzz. To me, it makes no sense to make something out of nothing. He was the co-DC, when one of the DC’s leave, it defaults to there only being one DC. If he is under contract, then there is no reason to be sitting on the edge of our seats for news or to say we are looking for a new DC. To me, it’s dumb. I dislike the pundits that sit around and provide nothing to society except to parrot what someone else said, who did the same with what someone else said and so on and so on.
I can't argue with this. While I enjoy various Gator podcasters, most of them feel it necessary to go live every day or every couple. Things can get rather slow in College Football, even in todays environment, so yeah, some of the talking heads will drum up anything to talk about and to solicit subscribers and likes. I hope the DC stuff is just talk and innuendo, I really liked where UF was heading defensively at the end of 24, and hope there is continuity with staff and of course with continued good play in 25.
Silly season. Do yourselves and all of us a favor and delete youtube and Twitter. It's hard enough getting good info from full time journalists at professional organizations. Ignore the dung on social media.
Twitter - Agree Youtube - Sure tons of junk but there is also terriffic content depending on the subject matter.
Just have to avoid the sensationally titled videos. So much good stuff on engineering, repairs, music etc
Yep, I can't tell you how many times I have to go to YOU Tube for guides on how to use my HVAC controllers! LOL
