When did you become a mod? You defend a man who speaks at a 3rd grade level and can't finish a sentence unless there is a teleprompter. Biden has passed more legislation than any president since LBJ. This thread is useless.

I started the thread to ask a very specific question of posters. It is not about Trump and it is not about Biden's achievements in office. It is about what posters think the conventional wisdom will be on Biden's cognitive decline, if any, by 2040 after everything is written. Thank you for providing your answer to the question. If you think this thread is useless, you can move on to others that you find worthwhile.

Using Woodrow Wilson's stroke and the apparent decline of Reagan's cognitive ability near the end of his second term, Biden's cognitive decline will be a footnote in history. It will be mentioned but it will probably not be considered a significant aspect of his term in office. It has been suggested that Wilson's stroke may have been a factor in his failure to get Senate approval of his proposal for US membership in the League of Nations given that he was unable to lobby on behalf of the proposal.

I haven't read the thread, but can you articulate the reason it matters? My only issue with it is that Biden's stubbornness likely contributed to Harris's loss. Debate withstanding, that's not about cognitive decline. In the future, nobody will give a shit about Biden's "cognitive decline."

Welcome to Too Hot where we always answer the question first, and then tell you why. You just wanted us to answer the question, you should have shut it down to replies.

Moving on to a more purposeful thread.

I think you have them mixed up. Trump answers reporters questions. Biden is the one who can't speak without a teleprompter, why do you think he ducks out when the first question is asked?

So you do not think it matters that the POTUS might not have actually been doing the job and it was hidden from the US public?

Noted. Corrected version: You can beg and plead but I will never stop reminding magas how utterly gross their vote was spent - so stop begging.

Not sure how asking about Biden mental state has to do with begging and pleading about an election he was not on the ballot for by election day.

What history likely will tell us, based on what we have heard to date from presidential historians, is that Biden will rank among the top 1/3rd of U.S. presidents, and Donald Trump will rank as the worst president in U.S. history.

Don’t be disingenuous. You’re asking about a president that is 100Xs more competent than the incoming guy. I gave you a simple example of why no one in history will have any issues with Biden’s performance as president. His one goof being the horrible debate performance. Dude was too old to rerun and that unfortunately opened the door for the loser in chief to come back. That is the historical significance.

Here is the original exchange that has nothing do with what you just posted.

And there is a reason I deleted it. I wanted to stay on topic and not get into a Trump versus Biden debate, of which there are tons of other threads on this board.

This is not about Trump's election. It is about how people will look back on Biden and his Admin in 2040, if it turns out that Biden did have significant cognitive issues and could not do the job. If that is the case, there are a lot of people are going to have to answer a lot of hard questions. I get that you do not like that idea and want to switch the focus to Trump.

Biden should not have run again but he was able to serve out his term. Right wing knuckle heads fell for every doctored video in the world and think he’s been a mess. While his debate performance in 2024 was utterly horrible he showed a cognitive ability that far outstrips the guy trying to invade Greenland, annex Canada, and change the name of the Gulf. Biden showed signs of aging NOT dementia or the craziness of Trump half the nation loves. Insane.

What are signs of "aging" in your opinion versus cognitive decline?

Did ANYONE on this thread, who are so convinced of Biden's total decline, happen to see him eulogize Jimmy Carter today at Washington Cathedral ??
Spoke from notes - no teleprompter - and sounded fine. Even presidential, you might say.

But I have never seen Trump give 10 minutes of remarks, strictly from notes and no prompter. And even with prepared prompter remarks, he is unable to deliver without going off topic, riffing or misspeaking. What gives?

We're comparing two elderly men: one who can read aloud coherently for 10 minutes vs someone who cannot. Yet Trump's brain is just fine and Biden's is not?

Can you be more specific about the reason it matters? "Not actually doing the job" is just rhetoric. Can point to something specific that he's not doing?
