Who knew that all you have to do to get Republicans to rebel against big business utilizing their money and power to obtain more money and power was to put them in California? And then they come here and post pretty far left sources to make pretty left-wing arguments!

Would you like a lecture about emissions and climate change here too? Given your newfound affinity for Mother Jones, I can use their lecture on the topic:

The fact that there is even a debate style thread on this topic is a sad commentary on the state of the country. Everything is hyper politicized & usually subjected to wild conspiracies too.

So let me get this straight. When there is a mass shooting it is ok to talk politics, gun control ect. but don't dare find fault with the government of the great state of California when their failures cause a disaster?

Northern Cali (SanFran on up) was wetter than usual this year. Central Cali (Bakersfield, Fresno, Stockton) was near avg rainfall. SoCal was super dry.

Good even-handed thread on the Palisades fire from Breitbart's Joel Pollak:

The failures aren't all on the state. 17 million acres of CA land are under Federal control, including many of the forests that have burned. And the state doesn't control the weather. The west is in a prolonged drought, and this particular winter has been extremely dry for S. California and Arizona. How's that CA's fault?

As for dry hydrants, how many municipal systems could stay on 3 days straight without running out? The systems weren't designed to handle entire towns burning.

Or do you blame LAFD donating old and surplus equipment to Ukraine?

How about blaming the Santa Ana winds, which gusted up past 80 mph yesterday? Or is that the state's fault too?

maga world just like to bash CA no matter what, just like the other bogey men ( and women) they like to bash. Facts don't matter. They gotta rally to support their orange god no matter what.

They need a bad guy. An Other.

Because their plans are drivel that embarrass me that any American would hear and not just laugh at. Oh wait - Trump's gonna do all those things he failed at (and probably was just lying about) his first time. My bad.

Do you think the Governor controls the budget of LA City or County?

BTW, I did the math. Most of those expenditures seem to come from "Cultural Affairs," which was also cut. Why do you think the article chose to focus on that budget rather than the place the money was actually sent, to additional police expenditures? Finally, the total value of all of those expenditures is $405,680, which is about 0.04% of the fire department budget...

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the article seems to be addressing the city of L.A. and its Mayor rather than the Governor? Either way, I suppose it's never a bad time to throw LGBT folks under the bus.

Nice job from our resident “Mod”. A one line post on a duplicate topic being discussed that is already 7 pages long regarding a fake story. Awesomeness.

I know. Blame the lesbian, minority fire chief, right @vegasfox! Forget her impeccable, 25 year service record. If only the LAFD had hired a straight white guy, the fire and wind would bow down to his masculinity, and all those homes would've been saved!
