Said it before. Within a year and probably within six months it will become apparent why the "better president" left office at the end of his first term with an approval rating well under 40%. Between his proposed tariffs and his promise of massive deportations he will single handily destroy the economy that he inherited from Biden. His promise to lower prices will end up being as credible as his promise of making Mexico pay for his wall.

I'm still pissed that they hid his decline from me. If I knew, I would have voted for someone else in the primaries. I feel defrauded.

I think comparing Reagan to Biden is apples to oranges at this point. We have had almost 40 years of books and personal histories of people that were in the White House with Reagan. The claims that Reagan had Alzheimer's is not a widely held view and disputed by many Reagan authors and people that worked with him on a daily basis.

We do not have 40 years of books and personal histories on Biden's Admin. There are going to be a lot of books written about this time, and not just by Americans, by people that had to interact with him. But if you think this was all just an issue with Biden's stutter, that answers my question.

Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 4 years after leaving the WH. As it’s a progressive disease it’s quite likely he had those early signs while in office, but was still able to perform the duties in the later years with some management and schedule limitations.

I guess we’ll see in a few years whether Biden progresses to have Alzheimer’s or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If he had the disease now most likely it would progress within a few years. I think his speech is something to notice because that’s an issue he’s had to compensate for a lifetime, so any cognitive issue is quite likely to outwardly present there first.

It also remains to be seen if those who made decisions in his stead whenever he was incapacitated will ever admit to it. Probably some combination of Klain/Zients, Harris, and Dr. Jill.

My bet is that he is too incompetent to actually do anything. I would be surprised if he does anything but tweet based on his last term. He passed one meaningful bill - tax cuts, signed an already done crime reform bill, and agreed to pull out of Afghanistan, but didnt. Those were the only meaningful things done and 1 was just a signature.

Biden was noticeably in decline in 2019. I would imagine his family saw it earlier. In 2020 I argued on my Twitter with @BigCheds over Biden's decline . Cheds is a sharp crypto trader but he was in complete denial, preferring to engage in motivated reasoning. He thought it was Trump, not Biden, who had cognitive issues. I'd post what I said to him but my twitter account was banned by the Deep State-Big Tech "Blob."

Cheds ran his mouth last year thinking Kamala was a sure thing. He lost a lot of money betting on Kamala

Honestly, not to be mean, I thought he was in cognitive decline as Vice President. As early as 2012, I used to say half jokingly that this was exactly the way President Obama wanted it because it made him impeachment-proof. There was an episode of The Office where corporate puts Creed in charge simply because he has seniority. Much hilarity ensued …

What will history say about the cognitive decline of the people who voted for Biden?

Let's stick to Biden in this thread. Plenty of other threads about Trump.

I thought Biden was the puppet?

So now a guy saying completely off the rails crazy shit is “his staffers are too online”? Can’t make this stuff up.

Trump is responsible for his own words/tweets, to put it on his “too online staffers” is ridiculous. The dogs and cats thing came out of Trumps mouth on a national stage. So effectively you are saying Trump has no agency over the words he spews? That his staffers put them there. I’m pointing out that if that were the case it would not be much different from what you would have said towards Biden (that he is a “puppet” and/or cognitively diminished).

Maybe history will answer the question of when Joe’s Banjo skills declined.

Love this. There has been no medical professional who has examined the president, come out with a diagnosis. I believe he is in physical decline, but not considered to have dementia. We were kept in the total dark with Reagan, maybe to a point the same has happened, but people see someone who stutters and says they are experiencing dementia. Meanwhile, trumph is speaking on the 3rd grade level and he's a genius

So all of Biden's issues in the debate, his interviews, and other public appearances are due to his stutter?

Let's keep this thread focused on Biden. If you want to talk about the possibility Trump has cognitive issues, go start a separate thread about that.
