The title of the thread says it all. Instead of showing compassion and empathy for the 100,000 plus residents of Southern California impacted by multiple wildfires over the last couple of days Trump almost according to script has politicized the disaster with a fictional rationale and as he did during his first term will almost certainly threaten to withhold federal disaster assistance.
Trump blames Biden and California Gov. Gavin Newsom for deadly wildfires
President-elect Donald Trump blamed President Joe Biden and California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday for the wildfires raging in Los Angeles that have killed at least five people and forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes.

“Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way," Trump wrote in one of several posts on his social media platform, Truth Social.

In a statement in response, Newsom's director of communications, Izzy Gardon, accused Trump of "playing politics" while the wildfires continued to wreak havoc in Southern California. "There is no such document as the water restoration declaration – that is pure fiction. The Governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need," Gardon said.
This is what the Donald did during his first term.
Trump administration rejects California’s disaster assistance request for wildfires
Although he ultimately approved the request after being told that there were millions of Republican voters in California I expect him to pull a similar stunt this time. I would add that while President Biden has already issued a Major Disaster Declaration it is likely supplemental funding will be necessary and if that's the case Trump will likely oppose it.

So Trump just made up a document called the Water Restoration Declaration and claimed the Gov didn’t sign the made up document?

    Aggressive move…

Totally fails to understand the problem is with the distribution system, not the volumes in the reservoirs. The pipes and pumps aren't sized to meet the increased flow demands. That's an engineering failure to not anticipate that demand in that region

5 people are dead, and thousands are watching helpless as their homes go up in flames. These are fellow human beings. Now is not the time for childlike name calling or trying to place blame. How about some empathy and sympathy for those who were lost everything by theirs lives, and those who weren't even that lucky? But Trump can't even do that? Lower than pond scum.

I agree, Gavin Newsome is a POS that destroyed four water retention damns to that the Indians can go fishing. And now all that freshwater they used to us to fight fires IS GONE...

It’s night and day with the conservative responses to natural disasters on the West coast vs the East coast.

Their humanity is at an all-time low.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Just buying the bullshit from your orange god, hook, line, and sinker.

It wouldn't matter if Lake Michigan were in LA. When the winds that are fanning the flames are 80 to 100 mph airdrops are not really an option. Embers can travel for miles. If your orange god were that concerned, the last thing he would do is threaten to hold back on federal aid. btw, you do realize that CA pays more into the fed than it gets back right? When a red state has a disaster, some of that fed aid is money from..... your guessed it, CA.

Third world immigration favored by the OP reduced water supplies in California. Did fire hydrants really run dry?

    DEI hire for Fire chief?

Funding for firefighting cut by millions?

Were firefighters who refused to take the Covid vax fired?

Will Al Qaeda types welcomed in with open borders be setting more fires now and in the future?

SoCal fires are often started by homeless people and arsonists. Pretty easy if you have fireworks and a long fuse.

Looks like a huge group of firefighters is preventing the Hollywood Hills from going up in flames.

More proof that All Roads Lead to Robert Barnes:

Is someone with 22 years of experience including being a battalion chief, fire Marshall, and assistant chief a DEI hire? Because that was Crowley's resume before she was hired.

But does that really matter today? There will be plenty of time to politicize and point fingers later. Today, the fire rages on and some people have lost everything but their lives. Others, not so lucky.

And want someone to blame? Try Mother Nature. The weather in Malibu yesterday was clear, low around 50 high in mid 70s. Humidity between 20% and 30% and sustained winds around 55mph with gusts close to 80mph. You try fighting a large fire in these conditions.

Anyone that blames a natural disaster on the political persuasion of the residents is a reprehensible person.

I’ve read the winds are too strong for helicopters (up to 100mph!), so it’s pretty hopeless until the winds calm enough for air support. Which is why these fires are still 0% contained.

I assume there are still things they are trying to do on the ground to protect homes and neighborhoods. But 0% contained sounds like even that ability is limited. Winds supposed to calm today but then return on Friday according to this.

One of the most destructive firestorms in L.A. history kills 5, burns 2,000 buildings
