To be fair, there is a large segment of the Canadian population who speak American English and/or are ethnic Americans.

How feasible do you think mining He-3 from the Moon really is? On the surface, it seems worth every penny you'd have to spend to make it so.

I mean, this is making my argument for me that we are no different from those countries and that the USA is bad for humanity and an obstacle to world peace, so thanks I guess.

He-3 mining at an industrial scale is only worth it if He-3 fusion cycles are better than D-D fusion cycles. Earth has an effectively unlimited supply of Deuterium. That said, much of what we learn about He-3 mining will also be useful for other moon/asteroid/etc. mining...further, the ROI of "space research" for terrestrial applications is really good. So let's keep researching... who knows what comes of it.

Kind of a reach since this band of morons is the first to propose this (at least recently). Nobody with any sense would even consider it, especially when you consider that they're virtually ours anyway. Like, sure, Panama owns the canal, but who spends the most on maintenance? And if they ever got sideways, who do you think is taking it back?

Same with Greenland. We have a base there, it's currently owned by one of our closest allies, a NATO member who kits out in American gear and equipment. How are we restricted here? How are we threatened? How is this a "national security risk"?

It isn't. He's just trolling, which is all he's good for. Saddle up. It's going to be dumbass shit like this every day for the next 4 years.

Also, spare us the self flagellation. The last 75 years are clearly the best in human history on multiple levels, even including war and the American "Empire", for all its faults, created this scenario by not demanding tribute after WWII, but instead setting up a system where anyone could trade with anyone at any time. . . including our enemies.

Everything bad ever began with a band of morons suggesting it and people thinking "those morons wouldnt dare." And for that matter, China hasn't taken Taiwan and Russia has yet to take Ukraine. Even if the recent past was the best, that doesnt mean the future is going to be. We are in the process of burning all that down so, what does that say about it being the best?

8 years ago there were pretty normal establishment people around him that let grandpa have his tantrums and more or less kept the status quo, now its just bootlickers who are like "great idea sir!" Is slapping tariffs on a NATO ally over a manufactured territorial dispute off the table? Well, the incoming government of the USA says it isnt!

Armchair geopoliticians and generals ascribing arbitrary objectives to Russia and arbitrary timelines to China.

But to Trump’s trolling, I hope that’s all that it is and that he’ll promptly apply himself to campaign promises like addressing the immigration problem.

China isn't taking Taiwan. I doubt they'll even try. Like Ukraine, this is about internal power and a strongman government needing to maintain that tough-guy stance to its population. There's no way they could do it without catastrophic economic and military losses. In other words, if it looks like they're going down, they might try to attack Taiwan just to keep the people on their side/under their thumbs. I actually think there are greater odds of fighting them in Korea (or somewhere else) than Taiwan.

What do we import from Denmark? Oh yeah, probably key tech that we need for the development and production of microchips or some other key strategic product. Actually, that's Holland, but you get the point. MAGA gives new meaning to the word MORON.

I do think Greenland is a strategic Country and I do think we need to take back the Panama Canal.

The Canada thing is just Trump trolling Trudeau that has gained some traction but will never happen

A strategic country owned by our NATO ally, that purchases all its military kit (including F-35s) from us, who trains with us and holds operations with us and also allows us to keep an important base there (early warning systems). So, your point is?

Ditto for Panama. It's effectively ours anyway since we can take it back anytime we want it. In the meantime, we can shift some costs to Panama. Again, your point is?

Greenland isn’t US territory and it’s not for sale. The canal was given to Panamanian control via a legally-binding treaty. These are or belong to sovereign nations. Full stop.

What you’re floating is Putin-style imperialism, also used when certain third-empire Germans wanted to expand their “Lebensraum” for uh, security reasons. Fascinating.

    Edited for “humor.”
