Prominent right-wing podcaster Steve Bannon took aim at billionaire Elon Musk, saying the world's wealthiest man has "masters in Beijing" during a Saturday episode of his WarRoom podcast. Newsweek reached out to the press offices of Musk's companies SpaceX and Tesla for comment via email. Why It Matters Bannon, who served as the CEO of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign as well as a White House adviser in his former administration, and Musk, who donated over a quarter billion dollars to help get the president-elect across the finish line in 2024, are two of the Republican leader's top allies. However, Bannon has long been critical of Musk, and routinely criticized his business ties to China. Steve Bannon issues new Elon Musk warning: "Masters in Beijing" It appears that more and more right-wingers are becoming upset with Musk over all of the bans on Twitter that they have been receiving.
Bannon wants to be relevant, but I think he's going to find himself adrift from both the plutocrats and the business wing that run the show and the far-right maniacs who think he's an effete wimp. He's so 2016. Anyway, this specific complaint is very funny given his own history: Guo Wengui, Chinese billionaire and associate of Steve Bannon, denied bail in $1 billion fraud case
Musk is still too cozy with China for my liking... But China knows a good bet when they see one, and they probably know that they would be the bigger loser if they lost him.
Do I sense a schism developing between the MAGA working class voters responsible for the majority of Trump's support at the ballot box personified by Steve Bannon and the billionaire class responsible for financing his campaign personified but not limited to Elon Musk?
I’m sure you would like that and will use each and every difference of opinion to try and create that narrative. But to answer your question; NO.
Why not cage match? Weren’t Musk and Z-burger gonna do that? Battle Royale! Better than Tyson/YouTubeDude, surely.
Musk’s economic interests are in direct conflict with MAGA, but like always, money wins out. He’ll be fine with them as long as he keeps tweet raging on social issues.
