We really haven’t played a good defensive team this year (ASU highest at 32 in KenPom), so this will be an interesting test. Tennessee does literally everything well, but we are their toughest contest this season. Veteran guards and elite defense are like gold on the road in college hoops, which definitely gives them an edge—even in our place.

We match up pretty well personnel-wise with them, though. They play pretty slow, and we obviously want to play faster, so live ball turnovers and defensive rebounds will be the key to us attacking early. I can’t imagine either team running away tonight. Should be a tight game that comes down to free throws, second chance points, and turnovers/points off turnovers. I like us in one of those three (second chance)—probably need to take at least one, if not both of the others.

Ziegler will make life miserable for Clayton. Martin and Richard have to go after Lanier on offense. Illinois really pushed UT with terrific defense and by getting to the line. I guarantee we are better offensively that Illinois tonight. Not sure we can do what they did at the other end.

I had to come back and change my rating to best post ever. When I read this about 3 hours ago I thought win or lose we will see what this team is made of. Boy did we ever learn a huge amount what this team has going for itself and what it is capable of.

I could not have been more wrong. We not only ran away with it, but were better defensively than Illinois: held them to lower percentages from arc and field, better on the glass, and forced twice as many turnovers.

Hey, you are kind of party of the story…from CBS sports…

“Florida: The Gators messed one thing up: They sold students tickets to the public as part of a three-game holiday package. Police had to escort dozens of angry students out of their usual, courtside seats before tipoff.”

been seeing a lot of angry chatter on twitter and message boards that students are quite angry and teeing off on Scott Stricklin for selling their usual seats off to the public as he assumed students wouldn’t come back for the game.

I don't understand. Obviously the students bought tickets if they were in the building. Did they not check their seat numbers?

I’m not really sure. No facts just postings I saw online…Stricklin didn’t expect so many students so sold off the seats before Christmas. The rowdies may have assumed they could claim/reserve their usual seats and sections but…many of them were instead sold to others. So same number of Rowdy Reptiles showed up but fewer seats allotted to them per usual. Normally, NONE of the seats reserved for Rowdies are utilized by general public so maybe Rowdies Reptile seats are more general admission and sat in usual spots and got the boot instead. I’m not sure.
