His approval rating was down to 28%. High unemployment and his failure to fix tge economy must have just been to heavy for him- Then Trump threatened tariffs and said Canada should be our 51st State and the poor boy was toast Trudeau resigns as Canada prime minister
I tripped over this a while back which says that the issue in Canada is productivity, something which, here in the US, we excel at doing. Of course, we do get that productivity at the expense of workers but it makes for a strong economic engine that benefits the wealthy. Canada has a lot of worker protections and red tape that keep the wealthy from getting wealthier at the expense of the workers, therefore their engine is weak. Need more exploitation. Canada’s Growth Challenge: Why the economy is stuck in neutral - RBC Thought Leadership ...an inefficient regulatory and administrative approval system at all levels of government, which has unintentionally increased internal barriers to trade and growth. Infrastructure chokepoints and red tape further make international trade more difficult than it should be. Those have contributed to lower Canadian business investment, and with that, an overweight of capital going to buildings and construction, which, while valuable to the economy, don’t do as much for growth as machinery and intellectual property do. Moreover, many policies have favoured small businesses over growth companies and large enterprises, which, in turn, limits our overall productivity growth.
Although Trudeau would have almost certainly lost his governing coalition in Parliament and he would have been gone in any event, it was his humiliating gesture of symbolically kissing he rear end of the Orange presidential-elect that was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back and forced his early resignation.
I’m still shaking my head that the largest city in Canada - and arguably the most dynamic city in North America - elected a Trumper as mayor.
Although unlike the way the US Congress handled Trump, the Toronto City Council had the good sense to remove Rob Ford from office.
For those counting at home, that's: 1. Hillary 2. Biden 3. Kamalaladingdong 4. Trudeau Trump has brought down all of them. And some people still think he won't be able to get Mexico to cooperate...
He was on his way out because he's a dictator that the people of Canada have had enough of... that had NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS HAT-IN-HAND TRIP.
I'm not sure you know what a dictator is. Dictators don't tend the leave because of upcoming elections...
good riddance … Justin Trudeau, Last of the Democratically-Elected Lockdown Tyrants, Resigns in Tears – The Daily Sceptic
Maybe Trudeau's Covid lockdowns weren't such a bad idea. The US Covid death rate was 244 for 100,000 of population compared with 80 for 100k in Canada from the beginning of the pandemic through December of 2021. Covid-19: US surpasses 800,000 pandemic deaths
