Interesting Op Ed from Bolton. It should be disconcerting to everyone how Trump is demanding blind loyalty, even over their oath to the constitution.

“one requirement for them is unfortunately consistent: the likelihood that they will carry out Mr. Trump’s orders blind to norms and standards underlying effective governance, or perhaps even to legality.

In fact, Mr. Trump, whose understanding of the Constitution is sketchy, really wants his appointees to display fealty, a medieval concept implying not mere loyalty but submission

This is indisputably damaging to a free society, but it is a well-established Trump habit.“

I won’t say that, but I will say that Bolton and Trump can’t stand each other. And I’ll point out that Trump fired Bolton, for several reasons, but primarily because Bolton kept pushing for war with Iran. I might be inclined to believe a lot of things about the President-elect, but Bolton has no credibility with me.

All that being said, there is a clear pattern beyond Bolton where Trump demands loyalty to him above all other considerations, including the law and the constitution. If that is not a concern, that is a problem.

Just about all members of Congress have pledged fealty to AIPAC/Israel. How else could they get elected?

The Trump administration is shaping up to be Israel First. I fear that all of us will have to visit the Wailing Wall or be fined, Surnames A-K to go in even years, L-Z in uneven years.

Trump Struggles to Staff Ranks After Using Loyalty Tests to Vet Candidates

Candidates for senior management posts, sources explained, are reluctant to resign their current private sector roles without hiring letters from the transition. They also want to give their companies two weeks' prior to leaving for a job in the Trump administration.

These hurdles are coupled with the large number of applicants for positions coupled with the transition team’s rigorous application and vetting process, geared toward loyalty to the president’s mission, which is said to have slowed the speed of hiring.

Having clashed with many of establishment Republicans, including those in his first administration, the president-elect is working to surround himself with MAGA loyalists during his second term.
