I will be able to start the game, but then have to leave for another event. Hopefully others will contribute and discuss the game here. I will periodically peek in
GA has been called for about 5 traveling violations and one 5 second rule (which I don’t remember ever seeing before). 4:35 remaining in Q2. Gators 35-15. Does my heart good.
By the way, the attendance at Bama was pitiful. They have a ranked team and should be ashamed of themselves. Ours has never been great, but we have at least 10 X more than the 20 people at their game.
Lots of substitutions during the game, but the starters play the last 2 minutes. At the half, Gators 44-27.
Impressive win for Florida. Not sure if Georgia is that bad or if the Gators just played a great game. Stats are fairly even: 48% field goals for UF, 42% for UGA, both teams shot 40% from the arc, although we made 2 more. They were 13-19 from the free throw line, we were 9=15. 18 fouls each. Georgia loutrebounded us 34-31 and both teams had 32 points in the paint. The big difference was 22 turnovers for Georgia to 14 for Florida. We had 24 points off turnovers, they only had 12. Their bench outscored ours 22-13 and we had 15 assists to their 9. The final score showed domination, though, for the Gators. Always good to get your first SEC win, especially over Gawja.
A bit of both. We played well for where we are, but Georgia really bad this year. It's surprising because Coach Abe hasn't seemed to do much there.
not a normal team for her, the strange thing is that they were supposed to be really good this year with a lot of good guards coming back..has not worked out...I sat close to their bench today towards their parents, due to there being a pretty nice crowd today which I was happy to see. I heard a lot of bickering between players and parents from UGA. They said against Vandy was the worst. Refs called all kinds of crazy fouls(which I believe) Vandy has 2 players that get to the line a crazy amount of times. Anyways back to the game today, we played much more under control...trying to really get Kyle into the game from the beginning. Let Laila get into the flow of the game more, dont rush Liv. Settling on a starting lineup. Gasset, Salgues and Oneal are a good bench group also. If Liv stays out of foul trouble we should be in most games. Reynolds plays like she did today, more under control she can be a 12 to 15 pt pg scorer this year. Still think we are a 10 to 11 seed in the SEC by end of year. Still keep hearing we will add 2 to 3 more ladies or at least try to. They also think Daviana ( I hope that is close to spelled correctly) is going to make a big jump next year ..she still getting used to physical play more then anything of college basketball here
Thanks to everyone contributing to the thread.. Next game UF vs uk January 9 at 5 pm O'Connell Center SEC N Go Gators!
