Well there’s a difference between “letting him walk” and saying “enough is enough” at some point as Kirby keeps upping the offer.
What happens when Kirby reviews the film and then decides to portal in another starting RB? I am counting the days until this happens!
They do. Kind of like the one that kept UF out of the SEC title game in 2012. It boils down to who is ranked highest which is basically a popularity contest.
Might happen. ETN's stats are not terrible but his stats were better at UF and he's made some unprofessional mistakes for georgia. I thought he would run all over us and the rest with georgia's OL. Nope. Trevor Etienne - Georgia Bulldogs Running Back - ESPN Remember Chauncey Bowens defecting to georgia? That's working out well for him. Chauncey Bowens Career Stats - NCAAF - ESPN
I agree but its somewhat lesser of a thing without the east and west champions and having a bunch of tiebreakers and lopsided schedules. This year it worked out but itll be wrong sometime in tge near future. We will have a representative like Indiana who is ahead of a team like Penn st just because of scheduling.
ETN also missed a chip block at the end of the game that led to a sack. Total whiff. He can enjoy himself at what has become FSU north in Athens
Missed blocks get your wb injured on top of just losing games. People that believe a rb can just run and not block are very confused. Id say thats the reason he was not valued by our staff over johnson. Having a guy on tge edge that is on the sidelines on 3rd-15 isnt as valuable as they think they are either. Switching between etn and johnson has a tendency to give away the playcall also.
Probably should go to geographic divisions with all division teams playing each other and 2 games against teams from other division. But of course that presents a whole nother set of problems. Not the least of which being that we'd probably have the mutts, gumps, aubies and vols in our division which would make it very tough to win.
Here is my take, the playoffs narrowly averted doomsday scenerio #1 - Two teams playing each other three times for a title. Thats unfair to the coaches, players and the fan base's IMO. The money hogs need to trash conference championship games, they mean nothing now, and potentially hurt many teams trying to get into the playoffs. Then of course the doomsday scenerio of playing a team 3 times. (As would have happened between texas and UGA).
The four pod thing would have been much better but would require a four team sec pkayoff and that probably killed that.
If they are the two best teams in the nation , so be it. I only care who is the best, not what teams the fans wish they were watching.
It would be super simple to have two 9 team divisions. If the SEC added a ninth conference game they could scrap the excuse of never getting to play the other division's teams in the regular season.
Snd great games every week. Not alot of undefeated teams but tgere only one superbowl champion that was undefeated so it really doesnt matter. If there are 12-16 playoff spots, who cares if youre 10-2 or 12-0
That would be fine with mee. There's a division winner and you have to beat em either first or at the end.
