Just below that story: Mystery disease outbreak in China overwhelms hospitals in chilling echo of Covid dark days | Daily Mail Online China is reportedly being ravaged by a mysterious viral outbreak that is overwhelming some hospitals. Videos on social media appear to show hospital units overrun with patients in face masks, and parents holding sick children in long lines in pediatric units. There have also been unverified reports that crematoriums and funeral homes are being overwhelmed. The alarming scenes and lack of official commentary have led some to draw similarities to the early days of the Covid outbreak in China. No worries .... it's just the flu.
Much as I extol China, it may be the world’s preeminent seedbed for creating pan-panics (see: 2020). It has been reported that the Chinese rush to hospitals at the slightest signs of sniffles. We may be about to learn if the rest of the planet is going to fall for this sort of thing again.
The carbon composite that shields it from up to around 2,552 Fahrenheit in awesome? I wonder how much heat it could withstand.
In the article there was another number in Celsius, that was 1400 C as the hottest temperature that the prob withstood, 1,400 C is 2552 in Fahrenheit. Thanks for posting that interesting link/article.
I got that number from this video at the 2:53 mark. This 5 minute video is way better than the article.
It's amazing how freaking fast that probe was traveling, as well as the functionality and heat shielding.
100 mph winds. Burning 5 football fields a minute. Running out of water. LA mayor in Africa (she cut fire budget by $20mil). New fires are cropping up. This is really bad and will get worse.
Well the faster it goes, the more the wind will cool it down. Like rolling down you window and sticking your head out to cool off.
It’s a known virus, and the number of cases are actually less than last year. And given that you’re posting, I’m pretty confident you survived last year’s (heretofore unknown) calamitous outbreak. Seriously, the Daily Mail has some interesting one off stories from time to time, but don’t ever consider them a reputable news source on important issues, your blood pressure will thank me. What you need to know about HMPV as China sees rise in cases

Fires start all the time out in California for various reasons….so dry. I’m curious to see what caused these. Hoping it’s not nefarious.
