Ethics office suggests full-scale House Ethics investigation into Rep. Andy Ogles

An independent federal agency recommends the House Ethics Committee open a full-scale investigation into U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles over discrepancies on his campaign finance disclosures.

    • Ogles refused to cooperate with the federal review of his finances, according to a new report.
    • However, his last year has been dogged by scrutiny over a $320,000 personal loan he reported on disclosures to the Federal Election Commission.
    • The OCE report concluded there is "substantial reason to believe that Rep. Ogles omitted or misrepresented required information" on his financial disclosures.
    • The report also found there is "substantial reason to believe that Rep. Ogles's campaign committee may have accepted excessive contributions that were reported as personal loans and contributions from the candidate."

Ogles also lied about degrees and work history as well. At different points in time, some of which were before he had any degree, he claimed to have a degree in International Relations, Economics, and Political Science, with a variety of minors associated. In reality, he didn't have a degree until much later and that degree is in "Liberal Studies." He also claimed to be an economist and a law enforcement officer working on international sex trafficking, despite apparently doing none of that.

Basically, he is another George Santos who has just managed to be a bit more under-the-radar.

He's a Republican and very Trumpy. Close to no chance anyone in the GOP pursues his alleged transgressions.

In fact, if anyone at all does, the GOP will likely brand him a "hostage."

He's actually just a sex crime away from receiving a Trump cabinet appointment.
