Very difficult to yell for either team. Never have liked ND and well, being a Gator, I never ever root for the dawgs. I always go for the SEC team so I'll leave it at that even if it is GA.

 

Why always go for the SEC team?
Year in and year out they are our biggest competition for recruits

 

I stopped rooting for the other SEC teams recently after thinking about that.
My exceptions are if say you had Arkansas playing FSU in the college World Series of baseball or something then I go SEC.

I don't care for ND ( ruined my 1st Sugar Bowl..the Bus ran over us that night ;( ) but, I dislike uga more..so go Irish!

 

I think we were down to walk-on LB's by the end of that game, but it shouldn't have mattered. Rhett ran wild in the first half and we should have scored enough that ND wasn't patient enough to keep riding that Bus.

 

We were ranked #3 and Gator Nation was very disappointed to be matched up against #18 Notre Dame. It was a classic setup for disappointment. Lou Holtz had his underdog team ready to play. Bad game for the good guys

 

We had some unfortunate injuries that impacted that game. The 1991 team was loaded with 4th and 5th year Sr's, with not a lot of depth behind that (as we saw with all the Freshmen playing in 1992). I'm pretty sure neither of our starting D ends (Thomas and Brandon) played in that game and Paulk was also hurt against FSU, but I think he tried to play for a while. I just remember finishing the game with a walk-on inside LB's.

 

Spurrier also got into one of his moods in that game, refused to run it, Shane tossed 58 passes.

 

The classic failure mode for pass-happy offenses. Happened to the Shula/Marino Dolphins more than once

 

If you look at it from a coaching perspective, Marcus Freeman seems like a decent guy. Bowl cut wears his hatred of the gators on his sleeve. Brian Kelly is a douche.
Freeman taking ND further than Kelly ever did and Bowl cut going home early is a pleasant outcome. Go domers! For this one game only!

 

It will be very interesting to see how new Georgia QB Gunner Stockton does in a full game, his first start, is a playoff game. Quite a back story on him. They seem to be very confident in him, even more so than Beck, who was not good down the stretch. If he doesn’t fall flat UGA will get to the championship game, unfortunately.

 

Actually, I'd rather the Noles win that. Arkansas might try to claim that they stand with us as an SEC school with a NC in football, basketball and baseball if they take one on the diamond. Yes, they were in the SWC when they won the NC in football and basketball but they are now in the SEC.
