Why doesn't the Republican control of House and Senate performance correlate when a Republican is in the White House?

My opinion is that split control of the government works best because both parties have to compromise to get anything done.

That doesn't answer why Republican Presidents don't fare as well

the stock market while important is not a barometer on the economy as most people in the lower 50% of wage earners do not partake in tje st k market

Those people are always broke. There is nothing that will change that under our current system or that Trump will fix. They were broke under Trump too.

Seems like you have a problem with the concept of compromise because what you’ve described is exactly how that works. Both sides adopt a position between their respective positions.

    Trump: greatest market!
    Left: it’s not trickling down
    Biden: greater market!
Right: nah, it’s not tricking down

the twister mat is full. Move along.

I honestly don't know how much the president affects employment. But the unemployment rate difference between Democratic and Republican presidents is bizarrely one-sided.

Yes, the people in the lowest 50% of wage earners instead received the largest percentage increase in wages, partially due to labor shortages and partially due to the higher rates of job turnover (which resulted in faster wage growth as wages increased).

And THAT is what moves the country forward and makes it great. Too bad you can't - won't - see that.

Wrong- I said the only way dems compromise is for pubs to move left- that sure does not seem like the dems are adapting their positions- they know if they just sit and wait the pubs will fold

How many times, over the years, have we seen the basic response that the President does not have a big role in controlling the economy? But let something good happen and Both sides start crowing. Let the economy go stagnant.. and all of a sudden the Lees doesn’t have any say over it..

This is just a dumb argument considering we shut the world down over Covid.
