So, who has had the faster exit from the honeymoon phase, Napier or DeBoer? I will say Napier, because we live less in fantasyland. What say you?
Nick ran a very tight professional ship, guys played hard for him. Milroe is not a DeBoer type QB, he needs a more conventional one. With that said, Alabama should’ve went all in after Dan Lanning, he would’ve killed it at Bama, imho.
It still blows my mind that Saban just retired without a succession plan. They got the ‘it’s coach from last year, but I would have thought there would have been a decades long grooming process and an annointment / coronation. The fact that he just quit and they picked the best guy out there totally disrespects all that he built for 15 years
Who’s to say that they didn’t? The Oregon job is a better job than the Alabama job right now. They have all the resources and they have an easier path to the playoff every year in the Big 10. Lanning can be the legend there. No one wants to be the guy to replace the GOAT and live in that shadow. Just ask DeBoer how it feels. I doubt that anyone will ever have the run that the Nicktator had in the new age of college football. Nick knew it, and every Bammer coach will forever be measured by it.
Milroe is awful. Doesn’t see the field, stares down receivers, inaccurate throws. With a decent QB Bama is probably in the Playoff.
Didn't watch the game but Michigan's season seems a bit like UFs. Struggled most of the year but finished strong with wins over Ohio St and Bama. That should keep their first year coach in good graces for awhile.
