Having treated tens of thousands of patients over the years I can say this has little to do with doctors not telling people about diet and exercise. People do what they want to do, hell if I had a dollar for every patient who came back to the ER when they didn’t ever go get the FREE Rx filled because they weren’t better I’d be on a beach earning 20%. This includes people on drug trials for diabetes, HTN, hyperlipidemia. I’d always love it when we would start a new DM trial before the holidays and 2 months later the sponsor would be freaking out because subjects A1C would shoot up. Duh people eat like crap during the holidays!
I suspect we’re asking the wrong question. Rather than asking why healthcare costs are so high, ask why we rely so much on healthcare.
I don't find this recommendation compelling, given that you clearly don't understand what you are reading. To better understand what you are reading, I'd suggest any Introduction to Statistics textbook. Here is a free one: Introduction to Statistics - Open Textbook Library Then, you can re-read his book with a critical mind and a basic understanding of statistics and see if the statistical arguments make actual sense.
As I said. You are probably stupid enough to ignore a very good read that could benefit your family but will likely choose not to because I recommended it. Your loss. Keep following the medical dogma if you wish.
Yeah, given the fact that you screwed up your statistics so thoroughly on this thread, I don't really think you should be opining about others' intelligence. It isn't a good look. I highly recommend the Intro to Statistics book, so as not to make similar mistakes in the future. Then, perhaps, you could opine on others and attempt to insult them while not looking quite so ridiculous due to your elementary mistakes.
Medical error was the third-leading cause of death BEFORE pan-panic turned hospitals into killing zones. All medical facilities should be required to post the sign: HIPPOCRATIC OATH MAY NOT BE IN FORCE ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK
LOL! You are continuing to try and beat me down because I made a mistake instead of actually address the issue. Which is healthcare as a whole. If you think I care that you can’t let go that I made a mistake then so be it. You truly are dumb enough to not research really good information that could benefit your family. Keep following the medical dogma if you wish…
Fat through overeating and/or lack of exercise was put out to pasture years ago. The dark horse coming up on the rail is some insidious chemical evil food manufacturers are smuggling into our foods.
"A" implies that it was one mistake. It wasn't. You continued to say nonsensical stuff when pressed. The issue is that you truly have no idea what you are talking about about on the topic, even though you read this book, as you don't have sufficient statistical knowledge to judge his claims. This is actually my objection to media like this. A group of people who have sufficient and sometimes even elite background but either are true believers in minority views amongst experts or who decide to grift the people without the ability to discern accuracy produce this media for an audience without such backgrounds. The problem is that it is massively successful as it provides substantial customer value to a group of people who want to feel like they are experts without putting in the work to actually become experts. They can feel like they are experts, pretend to others that they are experts, and make sense of a world that they don't really understand, making sense of the seeming chaos. So they enjoy being mislead. And the people trying to take it away from them are buzzkills.
LOL! You do you. Hold your bias if you wish. Honestly. I think you are smart enough to go read the book and learn. But are just too much of an @&& to say that is a good idea. So here we are. Cheap shots and your favorite circle jerk. I see it. Do you?
And once again, you are reduced to name calling in the face of somebody applying even a modicum of critical thought to your posts. And complaining about how accurately pointing out that you made a series of completely nonsensical statistical claims (and have yet to provide a claim that isn't nonsensical) is a "cheap shot" apparently. I think you are smart enough to read the Intro to Stats book that I linked for you and understand it. I hope you do. Then, perhaps you won't get taken in by this stuff.
So they’ve got us coming and going ? Evil Big Pharma and evil Big Food ? On a serious note, Americans have been eating fast food since WWII back when everybody was skinny.
To be fair…the food industry is processing things and adding things that were never part of the ingredients. And no doubt. The science sides on the more expensive side of providing the product. But…
