    Surprised we haven’t heard more from Canadian leaders - a few are finally responding. But the US generally thinks the world cares about us more than they do.

    “Nobody’s that mean and that vicious and stupid on Christmas Day,” said Angus who serves in the Canadian Parliament and thought people were “pulling his chain” when he heard of Trump’s holiday meltdown. “But whoa, I was wrong”…

    Angus pointed to a massive difference in gun-related deaths between the two countries, before noting that he’s one of a number of registered gun owners in Canada.

    wrote Charlie Angus, in a post on Bluesky:
    “Dear Donald, Thanks for including us in your deranged Christmas message, Being Canadian means free health care and limiting access to assault weapons,” he wrote. “In your 51st state our kids would get shot at in school and CEOs would be shot for denying health care. So no. Now piss off. Your northern neighbor.”

    Chance of being murdered by a gun in America probably lower than being euthanized by a Canadian doctor.

    Aside: I don’t know why Trump would want to annex Canada. Republicans would never win another election.

    In your eyes you view Trump as a socialist-,hell joey was way more socialist leaning than anything Trump has said or done- the only difference is joey is your guy

    Free healthcare is A STRAIGHT-UP LIE... the Canadians pay for it in taxes. If it such a good system, then why do Canadians come down to the U.S.A. to get routine operations, by the tens of thousands, every year?

    Nice strawman... I never once said our healthcare was great. I simply said Canada's is not free.

    One of my ortho Docs owns a outpatient surgical xenter and he told me almost 80% of their surgeries are cash paying Canadiens

    Thanks, bill. I know there have been News stories about how Canadians are coming to the U.S.A. to get medical procedures. It makes me further question the "greatness" of their "free" healthcare system. Not really free, and certainly not great.

    Same. I had thought that Canada's system was good, with 100% of the population insured, at around 2/3 of the cost per citizen, relative to the US. Then I heard about Bill's ortho Doc. Now my mind has been changed.

    That’s why all American doctors are located along a continuous line, paralleling the Canadian border. Cash money, no insurance nonsense, one step away from just printing the money themselves.

    There is a waiting time of around one year for knee replacements and similar elective orthopedic surgeries in Canada. I guess there are enough wealthy Canadians who want or need the surgery and do not want to wait. On the other hand no Canadian or Canadian family has ever declared bankruptcy or has been under the threat of losing their home because they incurred medical bills that they were unable to pay.
    No Canadian has or will ever experience what this family went through.
