Jesus did preach to sinners, but he was calling them to repentance, which is to depart from sin. The New Testament Church excommunicated people who had sex with their own children and treated such people as nonbelievers. If they showed the fruits of repentance, then they would be brought back into the fold.

I wouldn't base by understand of Christianity on how churches behave, because as I said, this guy brought his daughter to a church that talked her out of going to the cops and certainly didn't kick the molester dad out of their congregation ... what did Jesus say about forgiveness?

The level of evidence here is higher than just one church doing it. The apostle Paul gave very specific instructions in 1 Corinthians 5 regarding this matter under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The instructions were to “remove the evil one from among you.” Jude 4 also warns against ungodly people who have crept in and pervert the grace of God into sensuality and by doing so deny Jesus.

There are not many Christian churches that practice church discipline these days as it is taught in the New Testament, but that was the practice passed down by the apostles through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to the church today.

A general statement like “remove the evil one from among you” hardly supports what you claimed earlier, and it wasn't said by Jesus, either? What did Jesus say about forgiveness?

Jesus laid out the same principle in Matthew 18. You have to repent of sin to be forgiven. Those who don’t repent of sin are not forgiven by God, and they face judgment for their sins.

Trump is not a Christian based on everything I know about him. I don’t know anyone who actually claims that he is one, but I hope he repents and finds salvation in Christ alone.

Yes. That is how it works.

You can you invalidate a person’s religious ID? How did you obtain this authority?

LOL...so you live in Disney Land except it is all the time in real life. I don't debate or discuss things with people who inhabit fictional realities.

The answer to your question is found within this prayer - commonly known as The Lord's Prayer - Matthew 6:9-13 ~ “This, then, is how you should pray: “ 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

We will be forgiven to the extent we are capable and willing to forgive. 'Tis not a trivial matter.

Serious answer...Jesus taught that people's professions needed to be backed by evidence. Actions need to align with professions. Jesus never taught men are measured only by what they profess to be. By their fruits ye shall know them is what He taught. Anyone who knows anything about my posting history has very serious reason to doubt that I am a Democrat, Catholic, or a Muslim. And then on top of that some of those contradict one another.

In Trump's case there is a very straight forward argument to be made that he professes to be one thing, but his actions and lifestyle do not at all align with what he professes to be. The same can be said for Biden and Harris as well. Their actions don't align with their words either.

Are you talking about his adultery, rape and philandering, or his professing to love America?

And you are the in-situ arbiter of these words?

Or to ask in another way, why isn’t DJT the arbiter?

Who are you to override DJT’s own claims?

To be fair King David was an adulterer and even a murderer, but he repented of his sin. And that adulterer and murderer is thought of in high regard because grace applied washes away the stain of sin. King David is not measured by the height of his worst sins, but he is measured by his repentance. You can read David's prayer of repentance in Psalm 51.

The article you posted is actually one of the most damning pieces of evidence against Trump's claim that he is a Christian. Anyone who says they don't need to repent because they don't sin is far far away from having a saving knowledge of the gospel. Knowledge and confession of sin are absolutely essential to authentic Christianity. I would say the evidence that is most condemning is not what he has been accused of in the court system, but just what he says when he opens his mouth. I think I would have to see a transformation in Trump's speech to believe he is a Christian, and I just haven't seen that yet.

Identity claims are logical propositions that have a truth value of true or false. They are not automatically true just because they are asserted. A Chinese spy could say they are an American patriot and that would be false.
