There was no singling out in the op but it didn’t take but one or two post before it was “well straight families do bad stuff too”. Nonkiddding. OP literally cited a crime which was done by, as thread title states, a "gay couple." In other words, OP indicated that the couple's sexuality was.....somehow.....a relevant factor in this crime. (Their homosexuality, of course.)

And yet here you are just all really really really upset that those bad ole liberal posters could -gasp- reference someone's sexuality when pointing out other instances of crime! How dare they!

And of course, I haven't bothered to bring up why the OP referenced the perpetrator's sexuality. It's obviously to insinuate the wicked character of gay people. If this bush-league internet Otherism is lost on you....well, you certainly shouldn't assume that it's lost on everyone else. Of course, you get really really really offended when someone mentions the sexuality or creed of a wrong-doer. Well, unless it's gay people.

 

I don't know why you'd say that? Did you even watch the Documentary? The dad, the mom, and the reverend "councilor" who talked the girl out of going to the cops were all clearly Christain. Now all they have to do is ask for forgiveness and Jesus will forgive them, and they can all go to heaven, so I've been told. That is like, a main tenant of Christianity, right? What's so hard to believe about this?

The point of this thread is to paint gay people as monsters, right? This wouldn't be right wing news if it wasn't a gay couple. Over 10% of girls have at least one experience with sexual assault before they are 18, and 99% of those attacks are male heterosexual attacks, and we don't get a thread for those (unless it was immigrant or minority) ...

 

I think the argument is that if someone does something wrong.....they're no longer "Christian" because.....well, they did something wrong, and Christians don't do things that are wrong.

So yes, I believe the appropriate response should be that "these people aren't gay, because, well....gay people don't do things that are wrong."

It makes perfect sense. In a tremendously childish kind of way.


But then again, this thread is clearly just an attempt to characterize gay people in a negative light. To disparage them. And disparaging people is wrong. Therefore, anyone tolerant of a wrongful disparaging thread like this, without explicitly criticizing it's intent, cannot be Christian.

I agree, it's like one of the biggest things about Christianity is "Jesus absolves you of your sins" ... but for some reason Christians claim that anyone caught committing some major sins isn't allowed to be Christian. Weird.
