Sounds like a pretty obvious restriction on free speech, should be shot down by courts…

does the law specify which platforms you cant use or is it just generic to 'social media'? If it specifies specific platforms then no reason people couldn't continue with their 'free speech' on other platforms not covered.

Why should the government, and not parents and/or the kids themselves, get to decide where kids can exercise their speech?

That law won't take effect 1/1/25, an injunction preventing it will be granted before then.

Because parents and kids have already demonstrated they use bad judgement

I tend to think social media is bad for younger kids, but even putting aside whether this passes constitutional muster, I’d much rather see ideas for giving parents more information and tools as opposed to categorical bans.

Matt Gaetz will have access to all of Florida’s kids’ personal info when he is named Florida AG.

Since this is a Florida thing, guess it’s all the people who live in Florida that’s to blame.

Look, i think its Impossible to enforce, and thus a waste of time and money, but why is this different than other bans based on age?

No, not all...just the majority who voted. A very large minority made good decisions.

    Because it involves protected speech.

But so do other materials of speech that minors can't legally access. We all had the older friend that had to buy the Playboy back In the day, I was restricted from the amazing... Um ... Articles. ;).

And the platform/vehicle for speech Isn't guaranteed by the constitution.

A minor has the right to say anything they want, but not in a classroom during a test... And under this law on certain social sites until they are 16.

I certainly respect your expertise here, just asking if this is the legal slam dunk some think it is
