Pyburn commits to LSU

Mike P is tough on players. Lot of players choosing to transfer as a result. Jack is not the first to depart.

 

Pyburn and Searcy are the only ones that played right?

 

Yes.

The others are Justus Boone, Quincy Ivory and Bryce Capers (walk-on). Boone played some early, but was passed over. There was some excitement and hope he'd be a playmaker; it didn't work out.

Group is still good, just lost some rotation and deep depth. I'm sure CBN will get it worked out. Like he did today at boundary WR today.

 

His father flat out stated that the money scuttlebutt was bs.
He is A 20 year bull Gator.
He flat out stated that being in a 3 man rotation was not his preference and why he transferred.

 

It's funny... I do NOT recall this much BS HATE directed towards ETN as for Pyburn when ETN did this exact same thing to our Florida Football team last year. He took more money from a rival to an even more hated rival.

But everyone here was okay with ETN leaving for more money, or at least you guys showed less vitriol about his move to UGA than you're showing for Pyburn's move. I just don't get it.

I like ignoring people that would rather toss shade with a negative rep versus someone that wants to talk about why they disagree with me.

 

Maybe not to UGA, but ETN wasn’t THAT much of a surprise considering the season we were coming off last year, he was going into his “money” year (Pyburn is too but you get my drift), and his big bro poppin off at times last year about ETN needing to transfer made us all not too surprised he left UF.

 

In that screenshot his father flat out states he didn't ask for guarantees. He also brought up Mike petersen and then turned around and said Mike petersen wasn't the problem.

His dad was all over the place defending his son.

 

Huh? Etienne received tons of crap last year and this year for going to Georgia (rightfully so). It's still all there to see in the threads.

There's only one poster who insinuated there was a difference in the situations while also piling on Pyburn before anything was confirmed and it was still rumor but I won't bring their name up.

ETN has been flayed.
The difference is Pyburn was supsedly born doing the chomp.

Both were disheartening but I still trust those who leave, need to leave. Our roster keeps improving. I think every team is going to have issues with depth churn. And plugging starter holes is challenging. A strong team unity is going to be more important than ever and I like where we're headed on that front.

 

Like daddy said, kids don't like being part of a 3 man rotation. But, if they could play against the run and rush the passer, they'd stay in. Pyburn is better against the run. Gumbs is a pass rusher. Searcy can do both, but not to their level.

 

ETN left because he was never going to pass Johnson as the starter - and he wanted to walk onto a ready made championship team.

 

and because Kirby threw bags of money at him to disrupt our RB room. That fleabag bastard has to go down next season.

 

I'm sorry, but Pyburn is not "always a Gator."
I transferred from Furman to Florida and while I may have fond feelings for Furman, I am certainly not a Paladin.
Daddy Pyburns is in serious denial-and is flat out wrong here.
Pyburn is an LSU Tiger and is closer to a Gator traitor.

Jack made a serious mistake probably over hurt feelings and perhaps some issues with an assistant, but you don't turn your back on your brothers for this. Frankly- shame on him and on the dad. I don't care how much you've given.
You have ONE senior year. It's priceless. You never get another one.
Be the best Gator you can be and you can be proud when you are a 40 something "has been used to be."

Because when you tell your grandchildren about your career they really won't care about the cool Taylor Swift lyrics you quoted.
The story will be "I had hurt feelings, things were tough, and I bailed." Not much of a lesson- just sounds like a typical loser to me.

It will be fun to watch next year when Pyburn is rotated at LSU like he was here. I wonder what daddy will say then?

I felt that UGA flip was far worse than going to LSU for a one-year payday. One year and we couldn't figure out a way to keep a life-long Gator from Jacksonville? I know, He left and that's on him... I totally agree, but I also do NOT believe that demands rumor.

 

I must have missed that level of vitriol on ETN... But I still say Pyburn brought this one to himself and should have been more flexible... Now that's just going on uncorroborated rumors that have been bandied here.

 

Agree on Pyburn. Honestly I don't know how you missed the vitriol on Etienne. I myself try to rise above bashing kids on the boards because I think people should own their words and not hide behind a keyboard. I try not to write things I wouldn't say to someone's face.

I couldn't take the high road with Etienne or his family. They put themselves out there and dish it out publicly then they get the same energy in response. The mom, the brother Etienne and their ginormous foreheads.

 

I think it's more that we're talking about money specifically in one case and not in the other. But I know that's how it goes when a NIL ask was let out of the bag, even if it was inaccurate. I think Pyburn is getting more heat from something that could be a rumor. But, like I said, this is all on him for wanting more... He is at fault even if the demands are incorrect.

He was the last player I thought would have pulled this crap.
