    48 hours is brutal!
You are 100% correct on mind over matter. When I was 11-14 ish we lived at Tyndall AFB in Panama City. My dad and I would go fishing in our 16 footer and either troll or drift. Never got sick trolling — when we drift the lapping of the waves against the side, the hot sun beating down, I’d start feeling like I was gonna hurl. I’d tell my dad and as soon as we fired up the motor my head would clear. It’s hard telling someone who’s sick that it’s all in their head, but most of the time it is.

We usually have bodine, but dramamine doesn't take me out like it does to some people. If I'm sick, I want my stomach emptied. I'll drink a bunch of water or gatorade once I start feeling better.

I haven't been able to just outright beat it. If I don't take meds, I'm gonna get sick. I don't know if they actually work or if it's placebo effect, but whatever it is, it helps me avoid calling for ralph all morning while everyone else on the boat gets their laughs in. lol

We went on a party boat and I was like 12. No bunks or ac. The interior was lined with unpadded picnic table type benches. You slept on one of those if you wanted to sleep. I got sick on the way out and slept through most of the first night. Caught a bunch of snapper the following day, and some tuna the second night.

I grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay and Tuna in the Atlantic. Wake surfing all over Lynnhaven and Broad Bay. Had a 24 Pro-Line to mess around with my friends and my Dad’s 45 Albemarle. Never an issue with getting sick. Now, I look at a damn boat and I hurl.

We don't care if you throw up as long as you catch fish and you throw up over the side

We fish a 32 Albemarle. It's big enough to get offshore and small enough that it's only $1600 to make the trip to the rigs. The petrol in a 45 footer would be a little much But then we could probably pack a couple more people in there. We can just carry four and sleep. Getting three guys that can be gone for two days is a problem though. Many have to ask their wife if they're allowed and many have a job and can't go.

It was private and just 6 of us. Wasn’t one of the bigger boats.
