Anecdotal? There’s nothing anecdotal about the talent level of the current Gator football team. It is what it is, a quantitative variable.

If your spin is UF is lucky with their talent at RB/OC/OG, then are they always lucky? 3* Baugh and low 3*Jackson replaced 3* Etienne this year. Did UF have a talent issue with Etienne, or has UF been good at RB with CBN with all their 3* talent?

OC has been boring. CBN was cursed with two low 3* recruits, Equakun and Slaughter. How bad of a talent issue has CBN had at OC?

OG has been interesting. CBN has had different OGs all three years. UF had average OGs in 2023, good OGs in 2024 and great (I don’t over use that word) OG’s in 2022. White was 2nd team all SEC and Torrence was the best OG in college football and is probably now the best RG in the NFL. So, UF had the best OGs in the country in 2022. Yet, they were the lowest HS rated OG combo in the Power 5. (White was a very low 3* and Torrence may have actually been a 2* recruit.)- how did that happen?

Lastly, how does UFs OC/OG 3* group look for next year? Off the top of my head, they may be the best OC/OG group in the country next year.

So, again, with the repeated success at RB/OC/OG with 3* recruits, where’s the recruiting talent issue?

lol... You know that list is from May, right?

LSU with the #1 OL, interesting. Did you see the UF/LSU game this year? If so, who had the #1 OL that day?

They had 2 great tackles but the damage we inflicted on them was up the middle with the inexperienced guards.

Yep, hurt the inside a lot. Their OTs had some trouble too. Mr. Cambell, projected top 10 NFL draft pick, had his 2nd worst game against UF.

Let me explain what an anecdote means. Anecdotes are picking a couple of data points in a large group and saying they are meaningful. Also anecdotal is picking a couple of data that show the opposite of the original ones picked. You stated "If it's about rankings I’ll use two examples that would show a talent issue. UF currently has low 3* recruits at RB and OG/OC." If that was your way of stating the rankings are off, then it is quite easy to find data points that show the opposite (highly ranked players that don't pan out or live up to billing).

What I indicated was simply that the overall rankings are pretty accurate. Are there outliers? Of course, that is why a bell curve and standard deviations from the mean exist, but overall the services get the rankings right. Even the ole HBC admitted that the recruiting services "pretty much have it right."

    OK.

The Bengals are 6-8. A below average losing team.

Would you describe Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase as below average players?

It’s great you know the meaning of anecdotal. Now you need to learn how to use it in written form. Again, I’ll simplify it this time, there’s nothing anecdotal about the high skill level for UFs RB/OC/OG position groups.

Even though those groups are polluted with with low 3* ranked recruits, they are consistently talented groups. How is that possible- anecdotal luck or by process? UF/CBN have a type at RB and OL which has generated success regardless of recruiting star rankings. Wisconsin has had a longer track record of success with low ranked RBs and OL. Many other examples of long term success regardless of recruiting rankings. Not an anecdotal outlier, their consistent success is a standard.

Taking the season as a whole, the 7-5 record probably does reflect the rawness of some three-star talents, a few of whom have since gone on to become major recruiting misses for some programs who couldn't be bothered to do their homework - in their own back yard. But BN is obviously not infallible, hence the departures of some high-profile four-star recruits who couldn't stay healthy or couldn't earn the starter roles they demanded and eventually moved on. Such is life in the brave new world of CFB. But IMHO, we are just seeing the beginning of what this team and this still-building roster can become in the run-up to '25. If some previously injured starters come back to challenge the youngsters who have stepped up in their absence, we could be ready to make some real noise with the addition of this incoming HS class. And if today's news reports concerning the possible/likely flip of a massive five-star WR recruit are true, I'll be getting a little chirpy on some of those oppo fan boards. :p

I totally agree that '26 is the real moment of truth. But if we really are on the track back to actual relevance, we should have plenty to get excited about in '25. GG! Beat everybody!

We have some portal work to do. We were7-5 and lost some of that production. I dont count freshmen as help this year although im sure a couple will do so. We need the portal guys tgat are proven performers if we want to have aspirations of ten wins. The roster as is wont get there in my opinion.

Its starting to appear that we will need at least 3 new starters on the OL in 2026, so maybe we should shoot to make the playoffs in '25.

I'd be shocked/pissed if BN starts resting on his recruiting laurels any time soon. We clearly aren't anywhere near where we need to be yet, but at least hope is no longer being treated like a dirty word in Gainesville.

Law of holes? There's a law of wholes concerning the physiological blending of parts, but you wouldn’t understand that. Or, Healey's first law of holes, which really came from Roy Rogers. I guess "Happy Trails to You", is a law also?
