Are you a bot? Your responses don't fit the person you respond to. You just rattle off the same cliches.

I literally just withheld my vote for a Republican governor and Republican president...and you know it. I limited my votes to local things and D vs R isnt really a big factor in those to me.

And the "door bull***t" that you refer too isn't my effort to avoid the real issue. It is however an acknowledgement of the real issue. As a parent, I certainly don't mind extra security. Heck, I am always shocked when I walk into my sons basketball games, that a gym packed with people goes completely unsecure. I say wand us all. Set up metal detectors. I care more about our kids safety than I do some momentary inconvenience.

Note we never have mass shootings at NFL games. Because they are secured environments with safety in place. I guess the NFL is "ignoring the real issue" too.

No. These safety measures work. Institute them at every school and sporting event.

The battle over gins will wage on, but it can at least be more preventable with security steps.

Imagine thinking that asking people to not gloss over the fact a 2nd grader had to make a 911 call to alert them there was an active shooter is "milking it."

    Warped society...

Wow, yet another metric Biden has performed horribly in. School shootings have literally doubled under Joe Biden's watch. There were 160 school shootings during Trump's time in office. 317 for Biden. Rising every single year. Yikes. Didn't Biden pass a gun violence bill? Has it helped the situation? Why do the Dems keep crying for more gun control when you've owned the White House for the past four years and the shootings have doubled? Why should we listen to anything you suggest on this matter? Especially, as it pertains to curbing rights of law-abiding Americans?

This is such a sad sentiment. I spent 15-20 years covering local sports in a previous life. I've walked into hundreds of HS gyms and never once did something like this cross my mind. Kind of blows my mind that this thought does cross people's minds. But, I guess this is the world we live in.

Looks like your chart explains that the best policy to prevent school shootings in a society where everyone can get a gun is to close schools

No I didn't. Everything still applies. Kids have to wait a couple minutes in line. If it makes them safer as a parent, I support it... And unlike a prison structure, it has an several open exits that can be accessed by everyone.

    https://mises.org/mises-wire/why-we-cant-ignore-militia-clause-second-amendment

It is interesting, but take Wisconsin, for example. They don't require "militia" in it's expression of gun ownership rights:

So if the federal government defers to the states on this and a state doesn't express a militia requirement, is there one?

I agree. But when you think about it, its just a matter of time. I watched a dad screaming at a coach over his son's playing time. (While play was occuring!) He then marched out mid second period. You better believe a few dudes followed him out just to keep an eye on him.

He actually just went out to cool down, and him and the coach hashed it out in a mature way afterward, but it only takes one time...and then the copycats start.

The better question is how does a 15 year old get her hands on a weapon without a parent knowing about it? I had multiple weapons when my children lived at home. They stayed in my gun safe and no one in the house could open it. My son was never allowed to touch the weapons unless I was with him.
Explain how “everyone can get a gun”? And don’t give me some smartass answer. There are current laws restricting the ability to purchase a gun.

She was a student at the school and her dad tended to post conservative views on social media. Beyond that, not much is known.

Being Christian, or claiming to be, doesn’t inoculate a person from awful actions of violence. I’m also not willing to blame the religion at large for their actions. I do question what many prominent American prosperity preachers, Christian political leaders, and others on the evangelical right profess, however.

There are more guns than people in this country, if you cant get one, you either aren't very resourceful, broke, in a coma or are locked up somewhere. Your question is pretty pointless, even the pro-gun people argue criminals or the ill-intended can get guns easily. Thats why everyone else shouldnt be burneded by regulations in their view.

Note to the board: he puts the “girl” in quotation marks because brain-rotting far right media is trying to paint her as “trans” because she uses a different, also feminine name.

There is an alleged manifesto that’s… very disturbing passing around online. I’d caution anyone against any further assumptions until the authorities verify things.

Saw my share of that. If the parents only knew how embarrassed their kids are when they do that, or that the other kids make fun of them (or dad) for it.

Are YOU a bot? You just literally rattle of complete non sequiturs.

I'm not going to hack through all the details of your expressed desire to live in a police state.....just so we can have completely irrational lack of uniform and responsible gun regulation.

It boils down to this; rational gun regulation vs. heightened security measures, and living in a neo-American police state; metal detectors everywhere, triple the number of security officers we need. If we employed rational gun regulation, we'd see a much higher proportion of gun ownership by responsible citizens. If we had started doing this 40 years ago, we'd certainly have seen some improvement today.

Oh, and so you didn't vote for the criminal and the disgrace to humanity that the the Republican party respectively put up for election in the latest POTUS and NC governor races. No offense, but that's not impressive - those are things anyone with a shred of decency would be expected to do.

How about this though; did you vote for anyone who voted to overturn the veto of Senate Bill 41? If so, you voted for people who are enabling handgun sales to happen without background checks. Gee, ya think any criminals, minors, or mentally unstable people might be able to procure handguns now, because of that?

(Don't worry though - we'll just use more metal detectors, right? It's like a weird cycle, and .....we just can't figure out how it turns out, despite 3,4,5, or 6 (?) decades of personally watching it. More firearms, and shootings? Hmmm.)

Agreed; I have no problem with Christians being called out for being hypocrites. But what was called out was the education part of it implying that there was a problem with Christian values. Even the most religion-hating here recognize that it's not the values, it's the failure to adhere to them whenever there's a conflict between a "Christian" and Christianity.
