In the case of the Postal Service not bigger government but a service that the Founders thought that should be provided by the government. See Article II, Section 8 of the Constitution.

 

From a functional perspective, elements are already privatized in the form of companies we pay for text, videochat, email etc. Snail mail has a greatly diminished function than it once had. Who writes letters any more?

 

Info I have seen shows the USPS doesn’t lose a whole lot — around $3-4B. It’s a drop in the annual budget bucket. Fringe issues. The big issues are pentagon, social security, and interest. Not a hill to die on.

 

Absolutely true. It absolutely terrifies me when I consider the potential effects on offshore safety.

 

I anticipate the negative economic impact would be larger without usps. And a bigger impact on rural communities as they pay more for ups & fedex. also the elderly and poor are more reliant on usps.

New wells just recently pioneered in the 5k range producing massive yields under untested pressures and operating conditions (heat). Blow it all up indeed.

and it case you didn't know it, djt is responsible for that massive new amount of proven reserves about to hit the balance sheets and the increased production as these start to become more widespread and the tech improved.. fracking isn't going to move the needle on production but these behemouths will. Hopefully they are keeping their backup systems in place and somebody is checking it twice.

You’re referring to HPHT wells here. BSEE has regulations in-process, but I don’t know when they’ll be out.

It’s cool technology, but I have concerns. It’s been on my team’s desk for a while. Thankfully, the guy who’s in charge of the whole thing is a 40-year hand with 30 of those in industry. He came to work for the government because of healthcare and boredom.
