School shooting in Madison Wisc (this time).

    A juvenile with a gun - believed to be a student. At least 5 dead including the shooter. Others injured. A private Christian School that likely lacked resources to harden the bldg (me surmising)

    LIVE: 5 dead, including child, 5 injured in Madison Abundant Life Christian School shooting,

    Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes reported there were three deaths, including one child. Seven people were taken to area hospitals, including children. Additionally, Barnes said that a suspect is down and that authorities are still completing secondary searches of buildings and vehicles. He added that law enforcement did not fire their weapons.


    Actually, with a 28 acre campus, a sizable enrollment and the large bldgs being shown, it looks like the school probably did have significant resources.

    Abundant Life Christian School is a K-12 school serving approximately 390 students, according to its website.
    The school has a 28-acre campus and its website boasts “smaller class sizes” that cater to students from about 200 families in the Dane County area.

    Lets see if the media does stories about society crumbling or social media when kids get shot at school vs. when a CEO was shot vigilante style

    (Rhetorical Question, we know the answer, kids getting shot at school is normal in this country)

    We need schools to go to just one door. This situation is getting out of control.

    What's really sad is that while always very tragic, school shootings are no longer shocking.

    Arm the teachers and train them in what to do and close the campus to make it harder for these mentally ill whackos to get inside.

    Yeah, trained Uvalade police officers stood outside a school and let it get shot up for an hour, but 67 year old Ms Gertrude the history teacher is gonna do something with her Glock. Good lord.

    The kid who did it seemed perfectly capable of handling a gun effectively, why not give the other kids a chance to defend themselves and their classmates?

    How so many Americans consider this standard operating and flatly refuse to engage in even minimal gun control, instead wanting to arm teachers or turn schools into fortresses just sickens me. I hunt. I target shoot. I have home protection. I’m tired of kids getting gunned down.

    When my wife and I go overseas, “how the hell do you do nothing about guns when your kids keep dying” is almost the first question asked. I… don’t have an answer that doesn’t put tools above babies.
