If you go to the team ranking it has us with 1 5 star. That is because it uses the "Composite" score not the "247" score. 247 ALWAYS down grades our signees even after signing day even though no football or camps have happened.

You got to go to the drop down at the top of our list of players on 247 and select "Composite". A 5 star will be there and many more 4 stars for the Gators :)

Whether VB is a four or five star, I think the point is it’s not yet an elite class. We still ended up ranked 8th in the SEC, our major competition.

You're microdicking. When healthy we can compete, just need to keep adding quality depth / future starters which is happening .

Is that the goal? To “compete”? I would hope the goal would be to generally be more talented than most of the teams we play and play for SEC championships . We’re not going to keep beating teams that have more talent on a regular basis.

We are the talk of the SEC Channel.

Texas and Georgia fans at the SEC Championship game when I was there with my Gator gear on said... NO ONE wants to play the Gators right now.

Texas fans actually said Go Gators! Georgia fans were..... Dike Heads

    GOOOOOOOOOO..... NAPIER!!!!!!!

Interesting… What is your definition of “talent”; are you talking about a player's star ranking and team’s recruiting ranking? If not, what are you basing your talent evaluation on?

If it's about rankings I’ll use two examples that would show a talent issue. UF currently has low 3* recruits at RB and OG/OC. How does that compute to less talent?

That is anecdotal and for every instance of this happening there is an equally anecdotal situation that can be shown where the opposite is true. By and large the recruiting service are right in their evaluation of impact of overall star ratings. This is true for college as well as draft positions going into the NFL.

Can a coach beat the recruiting ratings?.....I believe they can. I think Harbaugh did as well as Jim McElwain to a lesser degree who left enough talent at FL to give Mullen 3 good years (none of Mac's classes were rated very highly except for his final class that evaporated when he got canned). The question is can Napier be a similar coach? I think he can just based on some of the talent that he has landed at UF. What ceiling that talent can get to, and whether Napier is the coach that will get to reap the rewards of his signees is still in question.

I had to go look up microdicking in the Urban dictionary...there was no definition listed...just a picture of Kirby Smart.

Here's an article about top players in the FHSAA championship finals. It starts with Byron Louis and Vernell Brown. Its a very basic read, not much details, but it does cover quite a few prospects and their game stats. It even mentions a few 2026 players of interest. Remember, the details on each of the players are fairly short.

I think Georgia, Alabama and Texas all three have better offensive lines than we do and the rankings would show this. That’s how I define talent. While I agree that our offensive line has improved, it is not one of the top units in the SEC. Here’s just an example from on3. 2024 Offensive Line Unit Rankings: LSU, Texas and Georgia headline Top 10 rooms this fall
