Gators At #9 in the AP (12/9/2024) [Update at #15]

And most of em have more losses.

 

None of it matters now, really.

We have 22 games left. Gonna need to win 15 or more of them to earn a top 2-4 seed.

 

Our ranking will be put to the test next two games, but then big time to start SEC play. Finish OOC play undefeated and go 2-1 to start SEC play and we’ll likely be #1 or 2 in the country.

 

That’s crazy talk! Whoever heard of the Gators being number 1 or 2 in Basketball?

Back in the top 10, I'll take it. How about that. The rest will sort itself out.

 

I didn't look but I bet it's a safe assumption that those losses came from teams that are higher ranked than any team UF has played yet. Could be wrong though.

Either way, the SEC is so absolutely loaded that the rankings right now won't matter a whole lot. We'll all have plenty of chances to make or break our resume's.

Well UF is looking good so far, but soon to be tested by AZ State and UNC.

I really like the potential of this Gators Squad, the first 9 games have been fun, but a glance at the next few out of conference games, combined with UFs early SEC schedule, will reveal just how good these Gators are. I mean UF is playing one top ten team after another, especially in early conference play. Meat grinder coming up.

But hey, this 9 - 0 start has been fun to watch and hopefully the Gators keep it rolling.

 

It's because our schedule strength is an atrocious 208 in KenPom...oh wait, Vols at #2 with 189 and Iowa State #6 at 194.

What's super funny...our SOS is 208 but the offensive SOS is 319 and defense is 87. We'd played some offensively challenged teams, I guess.

 

Or 17 and get a #1 seed
