Woohoo! Stucky to Kennedy for the final point!

 

Tough loss for Kansas on their home court. Great win for the Gators.

 

I'll admit I was wrong. Thought there was no chance of advancing the way they were playing. Nice to see they went back to Stucky finally and dividends paid off.

wooh..my heart was racing, after that false touch crap ..but we pulled it off....

 

Gators win!!! 25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 24-26, 15-13. What a thrilling game to watch - I can only imagine. Sweet 16 here we come.
Here are some numbers - Florida hit .274, Kansas .271. Florida had 77 kills, Kansas only 56. Florida had 29 attack errors, Kansas only 18. Florida had 13 service errors and 9 aces, Kansas had only 4 service errors and 5 aces. Florida had 54 digs, Kansas 53. Both teams had 12 blocks. Florida had 6 blocking errors, Kansas only had 1. Even match, although we had way more errors than Kansas. Reduce all the various types of errors and we win fairly easily. Kennedy Martin with 33 kills, hit .310. Isabel Martin with 18 kills, hit .361. Jaela Auguste had 15 kills, hit .440. Elli McKissock with 19 digs, Emily Canaan with 9, Alexis Stuckey and Izzy Martin with 7 each. Stuckey had 40 assists, Taylor Parks 27. Very nice win, on the road against a #3 seed. Gooo Gators!!!

 

So Stanford next?

 

So gritty, to lose the heartbreaker in the fourth, to be down in the fifth, on the road, against a higher seed, and find a way. Just so happy for the kids with all the turmoil this year.

 

Mary is legendary. Took her banged up girls into the opposing team’s home and turned out the lights. As someone with inside information, I am excited about the future. I will leave it at that for now. Go Gators!

 

Looks like Stanford is winning their match and they are next.

 

Probably. We play the winner of Stanford/Loyola Marymount, with Stanford leading 2 sets to none right now. Purdue meets Louisville in the other match and then those winners play to go to the Final 4.

 

I wonder if Stucky not 100% and fatigues easily so Mary saves her for the later sets now?

 

I would guess she’s still on some sort of jump or point count. But we may never know.

 

aTm advanced over a 3 seed too so 5 from SEC to Sweet 16. UK plays Mizzou so at least 1 to Elite 8.

 

The sec has 5 teams in the sweet sixteen and only 2 were seeded to get there.

 

Kennedy Martin not winning SEC POY is an absolute joke.

 

Be prepared to be laughing as the SEC is a joke when it comes to awards.

Jenny Rowland won the regular season SEC Championship in gymnastics with the youngest team in the NCAAs last season. The SEC awarded the Kentucky and LSU HCs co-SEC COY. The award was given at the conclusion of the regular season, not after the NCAAs were over and LSU had won the national championship. The Gators beat the Tigers in a head-to-head meet in the O Dome to boot.

Always count on the SEC to be laughable.
