We trust parents to exempt their kids from vaccinations but not to care for their transgendered kids?

I think children shouldn’t get a religious exemption for anything until they are 18 and can decide for themselves if they believe in God to care for them medically.

Genital surgery is virtually never performed on minors under the age of 18 albeit there have been some extremely rare exceptions. As far puberty blockers rendering a person sterile they have been used for decades to treat cases of precocious puberty and and there is no consensus as to whether their use could affect future fertility or bone mass although there some studies have indicated that those outcomes can occur and are more likely if they started early.

It is certainly comparable. Those people were assured of their righteousness too. They were convinced they were protecting the children and providing a better life for them. They were wrong. But they enshrined their prejudices into law and used that to override the wishes of the Native American children and their families. It did an incredible amount of harm. So too will these gender-affirming care bans.

Kind of difficult to have a rational discussion with someone who choose to be willfully ignorant. Before criticizing the source you should have at least read the article. Maybe you should read this since it study on the use of puberty blockers cited in the Georgia article:

Nobody's advocating for taking children away from their families or abusing the children. It's that type of exaggeration that makes people just avoid topics like this altogether. Then all of a sudden there's political pushback and people seemingly don't know why. Or they just call everybody who disagrees with them a bigot.

Anyway, the point of the question that you didn't answer was to see if you have a line or if everything is fair game (or if not everything, how far would you go before drawing a line).

No, I don't think giving puberty blockers to children is a good idea for gender dysphoria. You are cool with it as well as gender surgery on minors. I'm not and so is the vast majority of the country. Luckily most of Europe is also stopping this whole puberty blockers issues. I'm hopeful the US follows suit but there is money to be made so I'm sure it won't go anywhere...

No, you're merely arguing in favor of denying them life-saving healthcare. And I know exactly why there's pushback. There's always pushback. Transgender people aren't the first group to deal with this. American history is replete with examples.
It wasn't a serious question. My answer remains that we defer to patients, parents (for minors), and healthcare professionals to make these decisions. In a world where doctors (and hospitals) must answer to licensing boards, malpractice lawyers, and insurers, the hypothetical you proposed isn't happening. Parents aren't going to support it. Doctors won't do it. And hospitals won't allow it. So my stance remains unchanged. I trust patients, families, and healthcare professionals with their own healthcare decisions.

You are just as certain that your moral values are so superior to those of the parent that you are taking control of the Healthcare of the child. Certainly you can see the similarities

America’s best-known practitioner of youth gender medicine is being sued

Now, however, Dr Olson-Kennedy is being sued by a former patient, Clementine Breen, who believes that she was harmed precisely by a lack of gatekeeping. And many of Ms Breen’s claims appear to be backed up by Dr Olson-Kennedy’s own patient notes, which Ms Breen and her legal team have shared with The Economist. The medical-negligence lawsuit was filed on December 5th in California.

Ms Breen is a 20-year-old drama student at UCLA whose treatment at Dr Olson-Kennedy’s clinic included puberty blockers at age 12,

Well, I just did my own search. One of the posters wrote the following:

Because y'all are obsessed with letting Trannys market their freak to our kids...bc y'all want to protect avtivists' ability to isolate kids from their parents, and coax them into sexual mutilation....bc y'all want to protect tranny's fundamental right to groom our kids....

Accusing posters of supporting grooming is akin to accusing them of grooming. This was just one search for one poster. There are certainly many such examples.

Is there a case you are aware of where someone was accused of being a “Groomer” without evidence on social media and it cost someone their job?
