2025 Class

If your first post on a Gator website is negative, you aren’t a Gator. Couldn’t even stay on topic. Recruiting, not end of season standings…

 

I am happy we are able to sign 3 big guys on DL in this HS recruiting cycle, can never get enough good DTs.

FWIW, espn has our class at 10. Not bad considering they usually rank us lower than what we actually are. Very happy we got some big guys up front. Everything starts with the O and D lines.

Agree with most of what you say but it's misleading to that this is his fourth recruiting year. He was hired just before early signing day his first year and I pretty sure florida law prevented him from particiapating in NIL that year. His first real class are sophomores and the second are freshmen.

 

I may or may not have read the sales pitch known as How to Win Friends and Influence People.

 

I was talking about finishing #8 in recruiting, my friend. Though I can see how it might have come off otherwise.

Also wasn't cognizant of it being my first post here. Many, many posts elsewhere on my Gators. Since I'm new (here): born in G-ville, both parents Gators, double Gator, etc.

 

Man, you and hhpgator aren't messing around! I respect it. I'm the new guy. Truly forgot I'd never posted here before.

 

I'm not, but I may not be as negative as that came off. I just didn't understand the discussion of this being an elite class when we finished #8 in the SEC or #11 overall (in recruiting). I'd get people saying it was "really good", "fit our needs perfectly", etc.

 

I agree...having 7 SEC teams with higher rated classes does concern me.

 

You gotta come in slow on this board. The old farts are too quick to blast everyone as negative if you don’t align with their opinions.

It's good considering where we were earlier in the season. It's encouraging.....it's just not elite.

 

How about we say we're 'elite adjacent'? Is that fair?

 

Meh. Show me on the field your ranking.

I'm very happy we didn't fall into a black hole this year in recruiting. And we're at a point where a handful of good portal additions could vault us to elite on the field.

 

Well of course, the "meat" of a class is what they do on the field.
Outside of VBIII, Hanks, a few others, I doubt many from this cycle have a significant impact on the field in 2025.

What this class does do, and allow, is player development and to have a more traditional base of HS players in the system instead of
going portal heavy. Anyway, I still find the last months recruiting run to be remarkable. Lets hope the next cycle see's more top end guys call it for the Gators.
