I think if you read between the lines Mary is setting things up with the 1 new recruit and filling in spots with the transfer portal, that she is planning on retiring after next year, 35 seasons.

 

Yeah NC State and then Kansas if they win.

 

As noted on previous page, terrible season overall. Odds are we won't advance out of Lawrence. Better players might be portal bound.

 

The Gator Attack Club Board of Directors watched the Selection Show with the team at the Heavener Center. Here are a few pictures.

Emerson Hoyle's family home was destroyed by one of the hurricanes. The Attack Club did a GoFundMe and raised $5,000 to help the family. These pictures of her receiving the check as a complete surprise. Super proud of our club.

A few tears were had by all.

SEC is down this year. Texas & Kentucky got #3 seeds, Texas A&M a #6 seed with Florida, Missouri got a #7 seed and Oklahoma got in as a #8 seed. Tennessee, Ole Miss & South Carolina got in as unseeded teams, but not having any SEC team in the Top 8 is rare. If we happen to win the Kansas regional, more than liely we would play Stanford in the Sweet 16. Still love Gator volleyball and hope we can go oin a streak and surprise people. Go Gators.

 

Remind me to run for Board of Directors next year.

What was the team vibe? I'm pretty down that we're not hosting.

 

They put on a good face, but it was no where as good as previous years.

 

I'll be very interested to see what happens in the off season. Can 2 quality setters co-exist when both are completely healthy? Can and will Coach Wise bring in an elite hitter, middle blocker and/or Libero? Who if anyone, transfers out?

Scrappy, Your comment makes me nervous. If Alexis lack of playing time is not the result of her injury then I wouldn't be surprised to see her leave. That would be depressing. Prior to her injury she was pretty much the star of the team.

 

This team has the ability....
Hopefully we can get to the Sweet 16 and then go from there.

Interesting that some are talking about the possibility of transfers...I said Stucky would be gone over a month ago and was sharply criticized. Looking at team practice pictures and based on last few matches, we have seen her last game as a Gator. She will join the list of those that were key or going to be key components leaving to better places that utilize their skills better.....wish I was wrong but these decisions were easy to see because there really has not been any valid quality of play issues to warrant the change, when Mary gets a favorite it's pretty much locked for years.
