I still wonder if DeSantis would do this. He's Trump adjacent, but not full MAGA. He just panders to them out of political necessity. DeSantis sees himself as the smarter version of Trump and while it may be politically smart to align with MAGA, he doesn't want to go all-in Full MAGA. Because, let's face it. If this goes the way a lot of us think it's going to go, you won't want to be anywhere near the rotting corpse known as MAGA. Play the game Ron. Keep your options open. Worst case scenario, you are Senator from FL for life. Not a bad gig, and you can always run for POTUS and still return to the Senate. Plus, nobody wants Plastic Surgery Face as our Senator.

Example: the new DOI head actually understands O&G, renewables, permitting, and balancing that with a sensitive natural environment. Do I agree on all his political positions? No. Do I think he has a history of being reasonable? Yes.

The irony is that while Chronister was unqualified for the position as the DEA Administrator he was forced to withdraw by Trump because he had done the right thing as Sheriff of Hillsborough County specifically the arrest of a pastor holding a church service in violation of lockdown rules. Not sure whether anyone remembers a pastor in Maine also held services in violation of lockdown rules after which several members of his congregation contracted and died of Covid-19.
