I want to see numbers.

Yeah, Big Pharma sucks, but I'm sure they're making a lot more - and are more focused on - Viagra and Cialis sales. Or those 1M-a-pop, late-stage cancer meds. You know the commercials, "A chance to live longer!!!"

 

Isn't that pretty much what 90%+ of plastic surgery is? People not happy about how they look. You can add in things like surgeries to deal with eating issues. Seems like surgery is often a treatment for issues related to mental health.

 

Like I said, the pharmaceutical industry is involved in making these drugs and they are a multibillion-dollar industry. They own those doctors. You're free to Google their worth.

Yes, it actually does matter. People have been fired after being accused of being a racist or transphobe because those are federally protected classes. I have not seen any reports of anyone being fired for being called a liberal, socialist, or communist. Also, Democrats think they have the ability to shut down their opponents if they do not agree to the terms of Democrats rules. This a good example from CNN:


I'll concede the point on Groomer if there are examples of someone being called that and been fired without evidence that they actually did anything inappropriate.

 

Seeing a licensed therapist is often step one that happens long before any operation. What would you say to a kid who started seeing a therapist before puberty, took puberty blockers for years, and at age 18 wants the sex change operation. The therapist and all medical staff treating the kid all agree it's a good idea. Would you agree to the operation then? Or, would you say the kid still just needed more therapy?

The Tennessee law would prevent the child from receiving any therapy that is gender reaffirming and from receiving puberty blockers.

 

I want to see a statement of what they make on gender swapping based drugs. You said it's billions. Let's see it. You don't get to count sales of other drugs as your evidence, or total profits. What percentage of those profits is going to the sales of these drugs. Don't be coy here. You know exactly what I'm talking about. . . which is why you're running the deflection/dodge routine.

You're the one selling the point. I'm not spending the next 2.5 hours looking that up. I just tried Google and every story is tainted by leftist or right wing spin. So, that's going to take some work that I'm just not willing to do to MAKE YOUR POINT.

 

If gender is fluid (non-binary, I've even seen the term "non-linear" now), how can there be an "opposite" gender? How should we define these genders? My point here is that without definitions, we can go in any direction. I would first seek to establish definitions and then go from there. "I don't like my ______ " is not a statement about gender. Any parent has likely heard this about their child at some point about some physical attribute that they possess.

Say a "male" says they "feel like a girl." Then it's important to establish what they believe a "girl feels like." Is that an opinion or is it based on facts (somebody above made a comment on feelings)? Again, without definitions, this whole discussion is completely malleable. What one side believes is protecting the children the other side believes is detrimental to the children.

I’m still awed by the fact a child that lacks the maturity to choose to have sex with an adult and/or consume an alcoholic beverage is capable of knowing it needs to alter its genitalia to become a different sex or gender ….. a sex or gender that most, if not all, who support this practice cannot define.

 

I did a search for "groomer" and the two posters you identified; history goes back 2 years+; I do not see where they called you that or any reported post where they called you that.

Wow. Lot of wasted time for something that wasn't my point. I never said "I" was called that, but I've seen that used A LOT by a certain element on this board and nationally. Are you actually trying to prove that Liberal insults are "meaner" than MAGA? Is that the point "the search" was supposed to flush out?

 

You're assuming the psychiatrists don't go down this road. I think that's a false - and convenient - assumption. My guess is they do try to flush everything out, but people like you would rather cherry pick the most egregious incidents and try to sell them as the norm.

 

Search was pretty short for obvious reasons; my point is you called out two people and used an offensive term that they did not use at you or anybody else for that matter. It's an unreasonable association.

A poster relatively new the forum complained about being called a "Groomer" as a failed tit-for-tat attempt against another poster. I was curious to know if he had a valid complaint or if he was just making stuff up. He was making stuff up; I presented my explanation to the poster, gave him the opportunity to indicate if I was taking anything out of context, and he declined (this poster continued to get worked up about other stuff, but I let that go...figure maybe he's just having a bad day). That's one small example of the many examples of garbage that exists on this site that shows why people have a hard time communicating effectively with one another.

You quoting me drags me into the idea of playing arbiter on how the term is being used outside of as an attack on a member of the forum. Not interested; and it's really not relevant to anything on this thread. I don't agree with the politics of just about everybody on here; that's one of the things that makes this country great. You may see something as "akin to" - but that doesn't rise to the level of a personal attack against another poster (which is the main point). I give this example all the time, but I support the legal right to abort, but I do not support abortions as I think they are morally wrong. In the same vane, supporting one being able to groom does not mean that one supports grooming or is a groomer for that matter. It's a fallacious argument in my view. But, again, it's completely unnecessary and adds nothing to the thread. They have been fired based on social media interactions and that covers what we have been discussing about generically. I take it you were assuming it was limited to GC, where I was speaking more broadly.
