The longer we go without any additional information on the shooters identity, whereabouts, etc. the more likely he is to get away with it.

And thus, why I certainly don't condone the shooting of this guy, I certainly can relate to the "eat the rich" aspect of the whole thing.

To quote Chris Rock: "I don't condone it. . . but I UNDERSTAND!"

Yeah, but I think it had more to do with that gun not being set up for the can

I wonder what Sam Bankmen Fried is thinking after seeing this. That guy lost billions of dollars that belonged to people that wanted an untraceable currency.

I'll wait until something more official comes out to be certain but saw something on X where a poster suggests that pistol he used is a type that requires re-cocking after every round. I think we are just going to have to wait to know for sure.

Look up the details on that, in particular Michael Lewis' new book on him. All that money was paid back, most with profits. Apparently there was a big run on these claims (sold on market by claimants) and the people who bought them (or kept theirs) are making pretty big profits. He's also doing the interview circuit, so several interviews on YT with him talking about the book, SBF, etc.

Hmm. Not sure what the point would be for a gun like that. I’ve never heard of that.

    Little background:
This is an insurance company that I personally have been screwed by. When I had my first son, I was still a dirt poor engineering student, and the student insurance company I was using suddenly magically disappeared when my wife was 5 months in. It was then called "Midwest National Life". I was told they went out of business entirely. While working graveyard and finishing 2 engineering degrees, I had to pay out of pocket for everything. A year later I tracked the company down. It was relocated and named "AIG", this was a subsidiary of the same conglomerate of drive-by health insurance companies now called United Healthcare. I went straight to an attorney's office with a retainer fee in hand (taken from my scholarship check). Two months later this starving student got finally reimbursed for all of the fees.

Believe me, I hate this company with a passion.

But, it is NOT partly the fault of the insurance company that this shooting happened.

If we can transfer any of the responsibility for an actual assassination to the victims, we deserve every consequence that we get out of it as a society. It's insane to say this father of small children deserves part of the blame for getting gunned down in the street. The shooter should never again see the outside of a prison.

If the perp is caught it will be interesting to see if a jury will convict him. Granted, gunning someone down like that should get you life in prison, but.....

    Target pistol? Like, for competitions?

    I have no clue either.

Would you feel this way if you weren't reimbursed? What if you couldn't have afforded some of the treatments and you lost your wife and/or baby?

I'm not saying he deserved it, but he did choose a career path that would make him hated by a very large portion of the country - and made a ton of money doing so. So, for lack of a better term, it is what it is. What's telling is that nobody seems to care and a large portion of people are cheering it on. Even more interesting is that this isn't splitting along the traditional lines. Neither side cares and a lot on both are cheering it on. If I'm an insurance CEO, or any CEO of a big corporation, I might invest in more security.

I cant even think of a 9mm single shot pistol with a magazine. More than likely the ammo not having enough blow back to work the action. Could be because he used subsonic ammo for the suppressor on the gun.

Huh. My “thoughts” and “prayers” aren’t covered by my current policy, unfortunately, and I can’t afford the deductible.

I have a surprise for you conservatives… this is what Marxism looks like. The bourgeoisie (capitalist) was just assassinated by the proletariat (worker) with very little objection from the masses. o_O

Neither had I until I saw it on X. It is definitely not something you would see a lot at a range.
