Yeah, I would give all the credit to their defense, great O-Line and RB.

Are you really bellyaching about the 3rd string QB?!?- Get a grip.

OSU did it pre portal. Good 3rd string QBs don't stay 3rd string anymore. Check FSU 2023.

In all this banter i just want to say that I find this recruiting finish highly satisfying with tons of great players filling needs. I am fully on board backing CBN because he is our coach for the foreseeable.

Also, what happened with Miami, aTm, UTk, and UTa this year was completely inexcusable and can't continue. We can recruit as a top 5 SEC team and our records should reflect that.

Both of these things can be true at the same time and are apparent to UF fans and to our opponents who negatively recruit against us. I am going to revel in these recruiting wins and look forward to more wins in the portal and be cautious to not tell too many lies this offseason because I dealt out way too many last summer.

Pretty quality walkon...you have a problem with a guy like that being on roster as a freebie?

    Millen was qb3

That walkon completed several downfield passes vs 2 of the best defenses in the country. Is he elite? No. But neither are the backup walkons at most schools

Maybe he expected the Florida Gators, flagship university in the state of Florida, to have a scholarship QB on the team and ready to play... like every other SEC football team? I'm happy we have that walk-on QB on our team, but we should have more QBs on scholarship... on our team from which to choose.

We had 3 scholarship qbs. Our returning 5th year senior starter, a 5 star freshman, and a 3 year transfer with double digit D1 starts. That's a pretty good room

How many scholarship qb did Steve Spurrier have in 96 when he won his title?

Then maybe we need 4 or more scholarship QBs.

SOS was great at picking walk-ons to play QB, maybe he should be involved with that part of the "army" or "quality control" of the team.

So what position are you cutting spots to increase the qb numbers? Are you going to complain if we get injuries at that position and lack numbers?

Who was great for SOS? Brindise? He had less talent than Warner has

I think Napier and his army can find one (or two) more scholarships. But I will not be baited into "finding" who stays and who goes...

You have to assign a top to bottom importance of positions... how important is the QB position?

    Yeah, he can make room...

Very happy with the class. Not happy with where college football is and seems to be going.

    Really?

If you would, list all those 3rd team schollarship QBs that are all ready to play. A link will do.

I am not the coach, but if the QB the MOST IMPORTANT position on the team, then how much effort would you put into ensuring that we do NOT get caught having to play a non-scholarship QB... a walk-on QB?

    What would you do?

Waiting on those elite walkons that SOS had.

Look, the simple fact is guys today aren't going to sit and will leave for a perceived better opportunity. UF tried to flip Montgomery this morning simply because most portal guys will know Lagway is the guy the next 2 years.

The NIL and portal has made it nearly impossible to get a quality scholarship QBs to be the third or fourth tier players, yes, that much is a fact. I never said it's easy to accomplish, but it should be one of the top priorities, IMHO. There has to be a way to get other QBs that can compete on an SEC level willing to wait their turn on our team.

    Go Gators!

No, what you said was clear as is this post you just posted. You said a fireable offense, now had you fired CBN we would be looking at a gutted team, with possibly no franchise QB, who is now looking at a transition class and another 3 year rebuild. Luckily the brass with the power doesn't see it the same as you, and for that we are a top 10 class, with some great players across the board and can build upon our momentum we've built.

So again, your assessment of our situation at that time, while it may have seemed correct to you, that doesn't change the fact that it was Premature because we were still several weeks out. And tbh , with NIL and the way CFB is these days I'm surprised you counted us out so early.

The walk-on beat out the 3rd team scholarship QB. It is what it is. He's a quality walk-on. Myself, I might have let Millen play some against Texas, but I'm 99% sure it wouldn't have mattered. I don't know of a 3rd string QB that would have had success against Ga and Texas.

Do you really not understand the dynamic when a team has a Sr. starting QB and the #1 ranked true Fr. QB behind him? Backups transfer out. They don't want to be stuck as apermanent backup. I thought CBN did a good job scrambling for depth. I hope Warner and Millen both return. I think they'll both be better in year two.
