He can't go wrong here. I was thinking DeSantis for SOS, frankly, but Rubio is fine. DeSantis as SOD makes more sense anyway. He would be an excellent choice and with the way the world is turning recently, it may just be that a DOD is seen as a very good preparation job for a future CIC.

This stuff is starting to feel intentional. Lead off with a batshit crazy pick, let your enemies seethe, then just go all SOP with someone like Bondi or DeSantis, essentially tilling the field for an easy nomination process. You may not "like" DeSantis, but he's perfectly qualified for this position. And from that persepective, DeSantis may be worse for the simple fact he's smarter and far more competent at implementing polity than Hegseth. You could say the same thing for Bondi.
