I am beginning to wonder if some early commitments are going to get pushed out.

 

As long as Banks and Lyons come back the DTs could be set without a portal addition.

We'll see. A lot of moving parts in that statement.

 

Wild how both the football team and it's recruiting changed drastically in the last three weeks. Both were looking absolutely dead in the water. Might have to start calling Billy, Coach Lazarus.

Not sure about him, but looks like we're losing Justus Boone to the portal.

 

Wasn't Boone injured for a while? Has he ever gotten significant playing time in our 3 game winning stretch? How do you feel about losing him to the Portal? Do you see more portal defections coming? I'm sure we'll get more, just basing it on what happened last year particularly. It seems like we weathered most of those portal transfers out pretty well....watched Josh Braun playing in the Colorado beat down of Oklahoma State. Princely has started all year for Ole Miss but we've pretty much come to a consensus that we have been better without him than with him. I'd love to see GC do a piece "rating" the severity or lack thereof in the portal transfers out last two years.

I will admit, I was wrong about Slackman upgrading our D, over Princely. Slackman looked lost most times he was playing.

 

I never understood the hype on the guy. Saying he was great in the Ivy league probably doesn't even stack up to the top competition in Dade county HS. Hopefully he has used this year to figure out what he needs to do in the offseason to make a bigger impact next year. Perhaps he should tag along with Pyburn whenever he is working out.

 

I believe he is done.

 

Boone and Collins are two great character kids. I hate to lose them but Boone hasn't been the same after injury and Kelby was moved inside and hasn't seen much of the field despite flashing his freshman year before the move. After seeing the improvement in the D-line this year I trust Chatman and company to play him at the best position for him. Hopefully he keeps working and sticks around.

 

Did Kelby announce he was transferring? If so, I missed it.

 

No. Rumors and he has posted some cryptic stuff at times. For what it's worth he can be seen celebrating with the team in several videos so who knows
