Just an example: FSU just signed the #1 recruiting class in women's soccer. Of the 7 players, only 1 is from Florida.

Because living vicariously through others is all we have right now, I will point out that Vandy knocked out FSU in the second round of NCAAs tonight on PKs.

I love that. Any team that beats FSU is a favorite of mine.

On the surface, absolutely. Don’t know how she did this year though.

looks like she was injured or something part of the year, but made 8 starts and had 13 most minutes on the team even though she missed 8 games..

I guess those who live in the Gainesville area really enjoy women sports . Softball has some interest outside the Gainesville area.

I think our entire back line were seniors, need at least some experience.

how do you guys feel about Brinley Murphy and Abby Hess? I guess they were player of the years in their states and now headed to Gainesville. Is she upgrading the talent on the team? What is the next move she should make? Hire better assistants?

Murphy was NPOY out of high school, injury freshman year at USC. If she’s fully recovered she’s a great get. Don’t know much about Hess.
As far as talent, it’s getting better, but we also graduated a lot and weren’t that great to start. So we should be better next year but need another class or two like this one to truly be back. Jmo.
And yeah, I will beat the offensive philosophy drum again. Hopefully Murphy and our injured forward being back helps there a lot too.

Was told Hess is a good player out of VA who was hurt at PSU early and redshirted and then wanted a fresh start. Said she was probably top 60 player year before, but smallish. but very skilled with the ball on her feet. What that truly means I have no clue what her best spot will be on the team

    Hess is official now.

Gators Soccer Adds Transfer Addy Hess - Florida Gators

To be POY in VA you have to be really good, it’s a very talented area. She went to high school about 5 miles from me, and I’ve seen some of the tournaments around here.
Another one coming off an injury, seems there is some risk in who we are taking. Probably worth it though with the talent they have. As far as position, I would assume she plays outside up front somewhere, but we will see.
